PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A man suspected by police of dealing marijuana in Hartford Park was caught with drugs and a pistol Monday night.
The .25 caliber Beretta, found under a baseboard in Junior Green's bedroom, was the 13th gun seized by the Providence police so far this year.
Green, 44, was a small-time dealer, working from an apartment at 237 Hartford Ave., said Capt. Anthony Sauro. As narcotics detectives John Black and Sean Comella investigated Green, they heard he had a gun in the apartment, Sauro said.
The detectives raided Green's apartment Monday night, finding bagged marijuana and the gun, a magazine with eight rounds, and several loose rounds.
Green was ordered held without bail Tuesday on drug and firearm possession charges.
