7 Arrested on Drug Charges in 8 Days - Patch.com

Cherry Hill Police said.

Four came out of car stops, police said, when officers found the drugs during the course of checking out the drivers.

Officers arrested Gregory Michael Maurer and David M. Tomosky, both of Clubhouse Drive in West Deptford, in a stop on Route 38 near Chapel Avenue on Sept. 8.

Both men had heroin on them at the time, police said, and they were charged with possession of heroin and related charges.

That same day, officers made two other arrests—they stopped Jerome M. Iozzia, of the 200 block of Piute Trail in Browns Mills, on Route 38, and Joseph Opal, of the unit block of Winding Way in Southampton, on Route 70.

Iozzia had heroin and cocaine in the car, police said, and was charged with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine and related charges.

Opal had heroin on him, police said, and was just charged with possession of heroin.

The following weekend, officers arrested Vincent J. Marini, of the 800 block of Mandas Trail in Southampton, during a car stop at Route 70 and Old Orchard Road on Sept. 15.

Marini also had heroin on him, police said, and was charged with possession of heroin.

Two other drug arrests came from incidents that appeared to just be shoplifting, police said.

Toni R. Firlein, of the unit block of Lehigh Avenue in Westville, was arrested on Sept. 8, after allegedly shoplifting from Walmart on Route 38.

Firlein had multiple drugs on her when she was arrested, police said—heroin, crack cocaine and Xanax, for which she didn't have a prescription.

Firlein was charged with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine and possession of a scheduled narcotic.

Another alleged shoplifter, this one at Kohl's on Route 38, also had drugs on her when arrested on Sept. 14, police said.

Evamarie Hollander, of the unit block of Newport Drive in Hainesport, had heroin on her when she tried to walk out of the store without paying for $285 in merchandise, police said.

She was charged with possession of heroin in the incident.
