Wally Bayola Taking A Break From 'Eat Bulaga' Amid Sex Tape Scandal - The Inquisitr

Wally Bayola is taking a break from his popular television program Eat Bulaga after a sex scandal involving his co-star.

The popular Filipino comedian was featured in a sex tape allegedly showing him with co-star Yoshika "Yosh" Rivera. The video has created an uproar in the Philippines and threatens to sink Bayola's career.

As the scandal heats up, it appears Wally Bayola is trying to avoid the spotlight for a bit. He will be taking an indefinite leave from Eat Bulaga, said Malou Choa-Fagar, the comedian's business manager.

The show's executive have denied that Bayola is off the show for good, however.

"Not true," Malou Fagar, executive producer of Eat Bulaga, told the Philippine Daily Inquirer after reports that Bayola had been fired.

But the Wally Bayola scandal could threaten more than just the comedian's airtime. The Family Code of the Philippines says that concubinage could bring him a four-year prison sentence, though experts say the charge may be difficult to hold up in court.

Those who have seen the video say the male star of the tryst looks undoubtedly like Wally Bayola. He even makes the comedian's trademark "pa-pogi" sign at the end of the encounter. Bayola's fans have been left to wonder why he would film the extramarital affair, and how the tape could have been leaked.

The scandal is reminiscent of another recent incident in the Philippines. Wally's comedy partner, Jose Manalo, was accused by his wife of cheating and himself could face concubinage charges. Popular Filipino singer Chito Miranda was also the subject of a released sex tape, though his partner apologized via Instagram and that scandal has since died down.

It's unknown how long the sex tape scandal could keep Wally Bayola away from Eat Bulaga.

12 arrests in Cumbria police drugs crackdown - News & Star

Twelve people have been arrested in a police drugs operation targeting street users and dealers.

Heroin, cocaine, amphetamine and cannabis were seized in the crackdown over the last week in west Cumbria.

Suspects were held for allegedly possessing drugs or having substances with intent to supply them, with seven raids at homes in Whitehaven, Egremont and Cleator Moor.

Police say they launched Operation Brenner after residents in Copeland told them drug misuse and abuse was their main worry.

Officers add street level dealers have "an adverse effect" on the quality of life of people living nearby due to the linked crime, such as thefts from cars, carried out to feed habits.

In two of the more recent raids, search warrants were executed in Hensingham and Bransty Road in Whitehaven.

Police say the operation has relied on information provided by the public.

PC Calvin Greaves added that the crackdown aimed to have an impact on crime and "the fear that it causes" by "addressing community concerns".

He added: "We are working very closely with residents in estates across Copeland to disrupt the activity of those people who are involved with drugs misuse. The success of the operation is reliant upon the intelligence we have received and continue to receive from our communities.

"I would encourage people to contact us if they have information."

Most of those arrested were questioned by police before being bailed. No charges have yet been brought.

PC Greaves said officers would be working with housing associations and were aiming to offer some "respite to those residents suffering drug-related crime and antisocial behaviour".

Six people killed in apparent murder-suicide in South Carolina - Reuters

CHARLESTON, South Carolina | Wed Oct 30, 2013 9:28am EDT

CHARLESTON, South Carolina (Reuters) - Six people, including two children, were shot to death in a South Carolina home on Tuesday in what police believe is a murder-suicide involving members of a family, authorities said.

Investigators in Greenwood County, where the shootings took place, did not immediately release the identity of the shooter.

Several children escaped the home before the shootings, NBC News reported.

Sergeant John Long, a spokesman for the sheriff's department in Greenwood County in northwest South Carolina, would not confirm that detail early on Wednesday.

Long said he would provide more information about the incident later in the day.

Officers rushed to the scene after a man phoned 911 emergency services shortly before 6 p.m. EDT (2200 GMT) and said he was thinking of hurting himself, Long said.

"A male caller stated he needed a deputy because he was thinking about hurting himself and then disconnected the line," Long said.

When officers arrived, the SWAT team tried to encourage the caller to come out, but when he did not, they went inside the home and found six people dead, Long said.

"They tried to talk him out and they couldn't get anybody out and that's when the SWAT team went in" about an hour after deputies arrived, Long said.

Authorities did not release the names of the dead or the ages of the children.

"The situation, it just takes your heart," Greenwood County Sheriff Tony Davis told reporters. "It's just horrific."

Texas Murder Spree: Charles Brownlow arrested on suspicion of killing 5 people ... - CBS News

What the hell, do you think this is the movies? You know, next time you have a thought... Let it go. You're not suited to critical thinking. For example, this situation.

Everyone carrying firearms. A guy walks in, pulls a gun and shoots you. You will be dead before you draw your weapon. The others are so startled, they hesitate and get shot, too.

There you go. That gun sure saved your life. /sarcasm

As for "courage" in carrying a gun. It's just the opposite. Someone being so afraid of what MIGHT happen that they endanger themselves and their families by even owning a firearm. Statistically speaking, that gun you buy for personal protection will be used to kill a family member about 100 times before it's used to kill a "criminal" under any circumstances. And about 1000 times more likely to wound one. It's only frightened, spineless nitwits who carry one. It's NOT giving into fear that defines courage.

So gee, maybe we should like, I know, learn how to handle yourself without relying on a limited, one dimensional weapon like a gun.

Here's some fun facts for you:
- According to the CDC, the number one cause of death for all ages in the first year after purchasing a new gun is suicide. Nothing like proving how much of a coward you are, huh?
Compared to people who live in a household WITHOUT a gun, here's how it breaks down for those who do:
- A male is 5 times more likely to die from a firearm
- A child is 17 times more likely to die from a firearm.
- A woman is 20 times more likely to die from a firearm.

Nothing like protecting your family (that was meant literally, not sarcastically).

So, wrapping this up, skills would have helped more than firearms, because you can't rely on a firearm to defend you. That's like saying guns kill people. Having a gun means you don't care about protecting yourself or your family because you automatically increase the odds of an accident, suicide or murder happening because of its presence alone. And carrying one merely proves to the world what kind of coward you really are.

Because I promise you, no matter how "well trained" you may think you are, it all changes and goes to hell when the targets are shooting at you FIRST.

Six People Killed In Domestic Dispute - The Inquisitr

Six people were killed in a domestic dispute in Greenwood County, South Carolina. Greenwood County Sheriff Tony Davis said four adults and two children were killed in an apparent murder-suicide on Tuesday night.

The victims' names were not released. However, authorities said the oldest victim was 50 and the youngest was only 9 years old. All six people, including the suspect, died of gunshot wounds.

As reported by NBC News, the sheriff's department received a call from the suspect at around 6 pm on Tuesday evening. The man said he was experiencing severe anxiety and was considering harming himself.

Before deputies could respond to the home, they received another call from a neighbor. The neighbor said four children ran from the suspects home as shots were being fired inside.

Sheriff Davis said the scene was initially treated as a hostage situation, but authorities were unable to make contact with anyone inside the home. A SWAT team eventually entered the house and discovered the grisly scene.

Authorities believe the six people were killed as the result of a domestic dispute. As reported by Los Angeles Times, Sheriff Davis was terribly disturbed by the scene:

"It's sad, it's horrific… Your heart has to go out to all of the family members and everyone involved… in some point or another we know all these individuals."

Authorities said the four children who fled the home were guests of the family inside. All four were returned to their parents unharmed.

Although it appears all six victims were shot, the exact causes of death will be determined by the county coroner. A forensic team with the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division will handle the investigation into the tragedy.

All six people killed were reportedly members of the same family. Authorities have not discussed a motive, other than suggesting a domestic dispute.

Dust Storm Clouds Visibility on I-10 between Phoenix and Tucson: At Least 3 ... - Wunderground.com (blog)

Arizona DOT

A look at one of the crashes along westbound I-10 in Phoenix Tuesday afternoon.

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. -- Authorities in Arizona say three people are dead and at least 12 others injured after a dust storm led to multiple crashes on Interstate 10 between Phoenix and Tucson.

One of the three people killed Tuesday has been identified as 76-year-old Gordon Lee Smith of Mead, Wash.

Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say Smith's wife is among the injured. Her condition isn't immediately available.

The DPS says 19 vehicles, including at least six big rigs, were involved in chain-reaction collisions south of Casa Grande (KAH'-sah GRAHN'-day) shortly after noon. They say at least one passenger car was pinned between two 18-wheelers.

Medical helicopters airlifted several of the injured to hospitals in Tucson and Phoenix, and DPS officials said at least one person was in critical condition.

The names and hometowns of the other two killed weren't immediately available, authorities said.

The Picacho Peak area is prone to dust storms that develop suddenly and can quickly reduce visibility to zero for drivers.

The National Weather Service had issued a blowing dust advisory shortly before the crashes, with wind gusts of up to 30 mph reported in the area.

DPS spokesman Bart Graves said Tuesday's crash was one of the worst chain-reaction accidents in that area in the past seven years.

Parts of the westbound lanes of I-10 at the crash scene were closed for more than five hours.

Four arrested in drug investigation - Rapid City Journal

A series of search warrants has led to the arrest of two individuals in Chadron and an investigation in Sidney in the suspected use of LSD, psilocybin mushrooms and Ecstasy.

According to a Chadron Police Department press release, a 17-year –old male from Scottsbluff and Brody Gramberg, 18, of Chadron have been arrested on charges of delivery of an exceptionally hazardous controlled substance (LSD), two counts of possession of an exceptionally hazardous controlled substance (LSD and MDMA - popularly known as Ecstasy or Molly) and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

Both are being held at the Dawes County Jail on $50,000 bonds. They must post 10 percent in cash in order to bond out. The investigation led police to believe the drugs involved in the case came from a man in Sidney, and authorities there arrested Jennifer Cartwright, 31, and Walter Fischer, 30, Thursday.

The case began with a report of a missing juvenile call Oct. 21. Police logs indicate a missing person/juvenile call came in from the 200 block of West Fourth Street when the reporting party requested to speak with an officer at 12:48 a.m. The case took the police to a residence in the 100 block of Maple Street, and officers were able to locate the missing juvenile. However, while at the residence they smelled what they believed to be marijuana.

The juvenile was taken to the Chadron Community Hospital and treated for LSD toxicity. He was later released, but law enforcement served a search warrant on the Maple Street address and seized less than one ounce of marijuana, what is suspected to be psilocybin mushrooms and an unknown white powdery substance. Drug paraphernalia, including a scale and packaging materials consistent with the use and transportation of LSD, was also seized.

From those search warrants, police and the WING task force arranged the purchase of 10 hits of LSD from two suspects, allegedly Gramberg and the 17-year-old Scottsbluff juvenile male, on Wednesday. Three more search warrants were served on a Ford Explorer belonging to the 17-year-old, a Dodge Durango belonging to Gramberg and on an apartment in Chadron.

"Investigators found more suspected LSD and MDMA and a marijuana pipe in the Ford Explorer and marijuana, less than an ounce, as well as marijuana pipes and paraphernalia in the Durango," said Nebraska State Patrol Sergeant Dana Korell, who serves as the WING task force commander.

The case has also led law enforcement to Sidney for investigative purposes. Korell said Cartwright and Fischer were located in a camper in an outbuilding on the property police searched. Police seized a small box containing a digital scale and a methamphetamine pipe. Both individuals denied knowledge of the items.

"We will continue our investigation and suspect that there will be subsequent arrests in the coming weeks. Chadron has been an interesting area for our task force from the standpoint that it seems to be the only area in the Panhandle that we commonly see LSD and psilocybin mushrooms consistently."

LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) is a powerful psychedelic drug that can alter thinking processes and can produce anxiety, paranoia and delusions. Psilocybin mushrooms are psychedelic mushrooms that can also produce shifts in perception. Ecstasy or Molly can cause euphoria, diminished anxiety and mild psychedelic effects.

"All three of these drugs are extremely dangerous and these types of investigations and arrests are significant from a standpoint of impacting the use and availability of these exceptionally hazardous drugs in our communities," Korell said.

Psilocybin mushrooms played a role in the 2008 murder of Chadron State College student Kenneth Pfeiffer Jr., by his roommate and fellow CSC student Joseph Hotz. Both men had apparently been using marijuana and mushrooms when Hotz stabbed Pfeiffer more than 50 times after experiencing hallucinations from the drugs.

Hotz's bid for a not guilty plea by reason of insanity failed, and he is currently serving time in the Nebraska Department of Corrections for second degree murder and other charges.

Saint Jude's storm: tributes paid to couple killed in London house blast - The Guardian

Friends and colleagues have paid tribute to two people killed when hurricane-force winds during the Saint Jude's storm uprooted a tree in west London, which led to a gas explosion.

Suhail Akhtar, 46, and his girlfriend, Dorota Kolasinska, 34, were found dead under rubble after their home in Hounslow was destroyed by the suspected gas mains blast.

The couple, who reportedly had been together for about 10 years, were among four people killed as the worst storm to hit the UK for years swept through southern England, leaving a trail of destruction.

Kolsinska, who had worked for Hackney council for nine months as a traffic light sequencer, was described as "extremely popular and hardworking".

Kim Wright, corporate director of health and community services at the council in east London, said: "This is a truly tragic incident and our thoughts and sympathies are with Dorota's family, friends and colleagues."

Those who knew Akhtar, who worked as an IT contractor for the services firm Atos, said they were devastated by the news.

A close friend, Sheldon Hawkshaw, told the Evening Standard: "He was a go-to guy. He always had time for everyone. He always made us laugh and will be sorely missed."

A Scotland Yard spokesman said results were awaited from postmortem examinations on the couple.

The death total of four from storm-related incidents does not include Dylan Alkins, a 14-year-old swept out to sea from a Sussex beach on Sunday, who remained missing.

Hurricane-force winds sweeping across northern Europe raised the toll. Reports said six people were killed in Germany, and a further two drowned off the country's coast. In the Netherlands, a woman aged 24 was reported to have died after being struck by a falling tree in Amsterdam. In Brittany, a woman was missing, thought swept out to sea, and in Denmark a man was killed when he was hit by a brick.

On Tuesday in the UK, as the cleanup operation continued, tens of thousands of homes remained without power two days on.

About 50,000 properties in the east and south-east of England were without electricity. on Tuesday evening

UK Power Networks said the storm was the biggest the company had coped with since 2002 and had affected power supplies to nearly 620,000 customers. It hoped to get 98% of supplies restored by Wednesday, though some homes could be without until the end of the week.

Some rail services were disrupted on Tuesday, but operators said they were expected return to normal by Wednesday.

Estimates of the financial damage from the storm, dubbed Saint Jude after the patron of lost causes, on whose day it struck, were not expected until later this week, the Association of British Insurers said.

Winds of up to 99mph were recorded at the Needles, Isle of Wight, and up to 6cm (2.4in) of rain, half the monthly average, fell in a just few hours in areas of Hampshire and Devon, causing flash floods.

The British Red Cross, which assists power companies during outages, said the storm had prompted one of its largest deployments of personnel for many years.

Simon Lewis, head of emergency planning and response, said staff had helped hundreds of vulnerable people who had registered for assistance in the event of an emergency.

Lewis said that volunteer staff provided torches and blankets at a Suffolk care home, and in another case boiling water for a mother of five so she could make up formula milk.

"Having no power and being in the dark [vulnerable people] need the practical and emotional support and our volunteers can sit with them, talk to them … and provide them light by torches," Lewis said.

Up to 50 youngsters gathered at West Beach in Newhaven, East Sussex, for a vigil two days after Dylan vanished while playing in the surf. Balloons with hand-written messages were released into the sky and flowers were thrown into the sea in his memory.

One of his friends, Aaron Gilbert, 15, said: "I was hoping it was just a bad dream. I woke up crying. We'd come down every day in the summer but I never thought he would come down when it was really rough. I wish I could have stopped him."

Coastguards stood down their rescue operation for Dylan, shifting to trying to recover his body.

Another teenager, Bethany Freeman, aged 17, died when she was crushed by a nine-metre (30ft) tree that fell on the caravans she and her family were living in during renovation work at their home in Edenbridge, Kent.

Known as Gia, she said to be a universally respected sixth-form pupil at Tunbridge Wells Grammar school, and the school's website said she had "had everything to look forward to". Her driving instructor arrived at her home in Lydens Lane to give her a lesson not knowing about the accident.

In a statement issued through Kent police, her mother, Tess Peirce, said: "We are all absolutely devastated at the loss of my daughter. I would like to thank the emergency services for their tremendous efforts in attempting to save her."

Another casualty was Donal Drohan, 51, a father of three children, from Harrow in north-west London, who died when his car was hit by a falling tree at the bridge over the River Colne in Watford.

Drohan, from Harrow, west London, was "in the wrong place at the wrong time" when his car was struck, police said.

John Lee, a weather forecaster for the Press Association, said it was the most powerful storm in years. He said that on Friday there was "an indication that stormy weather could return" but it was likely to bring heavy rain rather than strong winds.

Four people killed as 100mph winds batter southern England - Telegraph.co.uk

Sweeping east across the country from the early hours, it left a trail of devastation, including flooding and damage to properties and vehicles, which is expected to cost several hundred million pounds to repair and clean up.

A talented and sporty 17-year-old grammar school girl was killed as she slept when a 30ft tree crushed the caravan where she had been living while building work was carried out on her family's home.

Bethany Freeman (PA)

Bethany Freeman's mother, Tess Peirce, tried to comfort her daughter as she lay trapped in the crushed mobile home in Hever, Kent, while neighbours tried desperately to free her using chainsaws and a mechanical digger.

The teenager's teachers at Tunbridge Wells Girls' Grammar School described her as "universally respected" and with "everything to look forward to".

One of the worst scenes of devastation was at a home in Hounslow, west London, where two people died when a tree blown over by the wind caused a suspected gas explosion.

The bodies of the man and woman, who have not been named, were found in the rubble of the property hours after the blast. Three other people were taken to hospital with cuts and burns.

Neighbours said the explosion, which is believed to have been caused by a ruptured gas main, was so loud that at first they thought it was a plane crash.

Rakesh Jain, 40, said: "We looked out of our bedroom window and saw the houses were destroyed.

"There was no plume of smoke or any fire, just a huge hole where the houses once were."

A father-of-three died when his car was crushed by a falling tree as he drove across a bridge in Watford, Hertfordshire.

Donal Drohan (PA)

Donal Drohan, 51, a council manager from Harrow, north-west London, was described as a loving and kind-hearted man who was heavily involved in his local community.

His family said in a statement: "He was the best husband and father anyone could wish for. You couldn't find anyone who had a bad word to say about him."

Meanwhile, it emerged on Monday that a 14-year-old boy feared dead after being swept out to sea in Newhaven, East Sussex, on Sunday afternoon had only moved to the coastal town a month ago.

One friend described the horror moment when a 20ft wave crashed against the shore washing the youngster, named by friends as Dylan Alkins, into the water.

The search for the teenager continued yesterday as a woman believed to be his mother took to Facebook praying her son was still alive.

Pam Alkins, 50, who is married to Dylan's paternal grandfather, said last night: "We hope the sea will give him back to us - one way or another."

The storm also left some 625,000 homes and businesses in southern England without power during the course of the day.

By 6.30pm on Monday evening 459,000 properties had been reconnected but 166,000 remained without electricity. Engineers continued to work through the night and more technicians were drafted in from other parts of the country.

The Dungeness B nuclear power station in Kent automatically shut down both its reactors after its power supply lines were cut by flying debris.

The gales also led to the cancellation of more than 130 flights at Heathrow Airport and the closure of the port of Dover in Kent.

Nick Clegg, the Deputy Prime Minister, was forced to postpone a planned press conference after a crane collapsed onto the roof of the Cabinet Office in Whitehall.

However, the damage was not as bad as some had feared, helped in part by early warnings about the storm and also by the fact that it struck when most people were still asleep.

The cancellation of the vast majority of peak morning trains into London provoked frustration among commuters, some of whom suggested it was not necessary to scrap so many services.

David Cameron, the Prime Minister, appeared to question whether the train companies had overreacted.

He said it was important to take decisions on the basis of the evidence available, but then added: "Obviously afterwards we will be able to look back and see whether people made the right decisions."

The train operators are set to make millions in compensation from Network Rail as a result of the disruption despite not running many of their scheduled services. Only some of this money is expected to be passed onto passengers.

Bob Crow, the leader of the RMT Transport Union, criticised the arrangements, saying: "Due to the stupid way that privatisation works it suits the train operators down to the ground not to run services and to lay the blame at the door of Network Rail."

Many commuters who did make it into work in London faced difficult journeys home on Monday night, but Network Rail said it hoped that train services would run as normal on Tuesday.

Monday's storm had peak wind gusts of 99mph in the Isle of Wight and soaked Cardiff with a maximum rainfall of 53.6mm (2.1ins) over 24 hours.

The Met Office said it was the fiercest storm in Britain since October 27 2002, when gales peaked at speeds of 102mph.

However, it was significantly less devastating than the infamous Great Storm of 1987, which claimed 18 lives and resulted in a clean-up bill estimated at £2.3 billion in today's money.

Tori Spelling Admits A Sex Tape Exists And Says She Lied About How She Lost ... - Huffington Post

Perhaps desperate times do call for desperate measures, because Tori Spelling really isn't holding anything back in her latest book, "Spelling It Like It Is."

In the new tell-all, the former "90210" star confesses that she and husband Dean McDermott filmed a sex tape on Valentine's Day in 2009, reports RadarOnline.

"Afterward, I checked my angles and they were good so I allowed him to keep it," the 40-year-old mother of four writes. "He uploaded it to our computer at home … without password protection."

It was a regrettable move on their part, since sex tapes have a habit of not staying private. Spelling writes that two years later, one of her husband's so-called friends bragged that he found the couple's sex tape on McDermott's computer. He had then copied it in an attempt to sell it to anyone who would pay the right price.

Either no one was interested in a Tori Spelling sex tape, or the couple managed to scare him off with a letter from their lawyer. "We never heard from him again, and the incident went away," she writes.

Spelling's book is simply a treasure trove of revelations: She also admits that she lied about how she lost weight after giving birth to her fourth child, Finn Davey, in August 2012. Dressed in a purple bikini on the cover of Us Weekly, Spelling told the magazine that she lost 45 pounds by swimming. In reality, the actress was starving herself.

She writes that she couldn't exercise for months after giving birth for fear that the stitches from her caesarian section would burst open. Also, she just doesn't care for the gym. "I really don't exercise much, period. So I took off my weight the old-fashioned way. I like to call it the Just Keep Your F--king Mouth Shut and Eat Air diet. It's all the rage."

When it came time to pose for Us Weekly, Spelling's weight loss plan just wasn't going to jive with magazine readers. "My publicist had given me clear instructions about what to say about my weight loss," she explains. "Women didn't want to know that I had lost weight through dieting, not exercising. I didn't want to be the a--hole who didn't work for it. So I said that I swam. It was sort of a bad choice. I can't do much more than a doggy paddle."

Between outing her dieting lies and calling Katie Holmes "plastic" after an awkward encounter, it makes you wonder what Spelling will reveal in her next tell-all book.

There were also some non-nude photos that feature the woman with the same fake tattoos Lively wore for her role in "The Town" and a photo that shows the actress's face. <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/01/blake-lively-nude-pics-ar_n_869590.html" target="_hplink">Lively's reps claim the photos are fake</a>, but if so, they are best fakes we've ever seen.

It seems as if Rihanna is hardly ever dressed these days, so we can barely call this a scandal. In 2009, naked photos of the singer surfaced online and were rumored to have been leaked by Rihanna's ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. Though the singer isn't shy about her body, she wasn't happy when the photos leaked. She told radio station Hot 97 that it was "the worst thing that could possibly ever happen to" her. "I just felt like my whole privacy was taken before that [by the injury photo] and then, when that came out, I thought, 'Oh great, so now there's nothing they don't know about me and my private life.' Reps for the singer claimed the photos were taken from her stylist's computer and leaked by a hacker. <a href="http://www.marieclaire.co.uk/news/celebrity/509663/christina-aguilera-hit-by-nude-photo-scandal.html" target="_hplink">In a statement to the press, her reps said: </a> "The photos of Christina Aguilera being leaked to the press were illegally obtained by a hacker who tapped into Christina's personal stylist's account. The photos include a midriff-baring Munn, a lingerie shot and finally a fully nude photo that does not picture Munn's face -- raising the possibility that the subject is not Munn but a woman who has a similar body type. The photos that picture Munn's face are likely legitimate. Munn herself took to Twitter to laugh off the scandal by posting photos of a baby and a cat and writing, "If you ever hacked my phone, these are the pictures you'd find." <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/10/olivia-munn-sxsw-letter_n_1336986.html" target="_hplink">Later Munn wrote a hilarious letter to fans</a>, in which she adorably bragged about all the good deeds she was doing while not sending lewd texts, ending with a note about the pictures' obvious fake nature because of certain absent physical traits. Wentz later admitted that he handled the leaked photos "pretty terribly for the first 48 hours," and went so far as to quit his band temporarily. "But then then what I realized is that it's not the worst thing on the planet that's ever gonna happen," <a href="http://www.celebuzz.com/photos/celebrity-nude-photo-scandals/6th-annual-kidstock-music-and-arts-festival-arrivals/" target="_hplink">he told Celebuzz</a>. Initially, Spelling, who is nursing her newborn baby girl, Hattie, says she was "shocked" and "devastated" by the blooper. But she took it all in stride. "But it's like, what am I going to do? I am a mom, I was nursing my baby... [Dean] was so devasted about it that I couldn't be mad. I mean it was genuinely an accident,"<a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/01/tori-spelling-talks-tople_n_1123162.html" target="_hplink"> Spelling told CNN</a>. UN Says Over 800 People Killed in Iraq in August - ABC News

More than 800 people were killed in Iraq in violence throughout August, the UN said Sunday. That was down somewhat from July, but still one of the highest monthly tolls in recent years.

Violence in Iraq has spiked following a deadly crackdown by the Shiite-led government on a Sunni protest camp in northern Iraq in April.

Attacks including waves of multiple coordinated car bombings, mostly blamed on al-Qaida's local branch, target the military, police and Shiite civilians. The scale of the bloodshed is intensifying fears Iraq is heading back toward the widespread Sunni-Shiite sectarian killing that peaked in 2006 and 2007. Security forces have tried to ratchet up counterinsurgency operations in response, but do not appear to have made a major dent in the pace of attacks.

The UN mission in Iraq said it recorded 804 people killed in August, including members of Iraq's security forces but not insurgents. The capital Baghdad was the part of the country worst affected, with 317 killed. The U.N. figure was lower than its July death toll, which stood at 1,057.

The report says a total of about 5,000 people were killed since the start of 2013.

The UN said that 716 of those killed in August were civilians and 88 were Iraqi security forces.

Attacks continued Sunday, leaving six dead.

A roadside bomb went off near an outdoor market, killing three people including a woman and wounding four others in the Shiite town of Dujail, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

Also, a car bomb exploded in a residential area in the in the ethnically mixed town of Tuz Khormato, killing three people and wounding 16, said the town's police chief, Col. Hussein Ali Rasheed.

Tuz Khormato, a frequent flashpoint for violence, sits in a band of territory contested by Arabs, Kurds and Turkomen about 200 kilometers (130 miles) north of Baghdad.

Medics in nearby hospitals confirmed the casualty figures for both attacks. The officials other than Col. Rasheed spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.

Marin lawyer arrested twice for alleged drug crimes, counterfeit bills - San Jose Mercury News

A Ross lawyer was arrested twice in less than two weeks on suspicion of drug violations and having counterfeit money.

Deron Adam Kartoon, 46, was booked into county jail Thursday night on allegations of possession of marijuana for sale, drug possession, possession of counterfeit bills, possession of drug paraphernalia and bringing drugs into jail.

He was also booked on suspicion committing a felony while he was free on bail for a similar arrest last week.

Kartoon was released on bail Friday morning pending further review by the district attorney's office. He declined to comment when reached by phone.

The cases stem from an incident on Oct. 15, when the California Highway Patrol stopped a Toyota Camry traveling at nearly 100 mph on southbound Highway 101 near Tiburon Boulevard.

Police identified the driver as Kartoon and determined his license was suspended and he had no proof of insurance, said CHP Officer Erik Egide.

A search of the vehicle turned up a suspected drug pipe, suspected methamphetamine and medications for which Kartoon had no prescription, Egide said. Police also found an allegedly counterfeit $100 bill in the center console.

Police arrested Kartoon and had his car towed. He posted bail while prosecutors reviewed the police reports.

Meanwhile, the Marin County Major Crimes Task Force, the county's interagency drug unit, launched its own investigation. On Thursday, the task force served a search warrant on Kartoon's home on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Ross.

Investigators found numerous used drug pipes, a small amount of suspected meth, a scale and marijuana in 11 packets that appeared to be prepared for sale, said sheriff's Lt. Don Wick. The task force also seized five allegedly counterfeit bills, four $100s and a $50.

When Kartoon arrived at jail to be booked, deputies found suspected meth in one of his pants pockets, Wick said.

Kartoon has been a member of the state bar since 1991. He has no disciplinary record with the bar, but his license was suspended three times for failing to pay dues.

In 2010, Kartoon was charged with two counts of drug possession, but the case was dismissed the following year after his attorney, Douglas Horngrad, persuaded a judge the evidence should be suppressed.

Some gov't severances 'obscene' - Medicine Hat News

By Letter to the Editor on October 29, 2013.

I would dearly love to know where I can apply for a senior executive position with either AHS or Premier Alison Redford's office. All you have to do is show up a few times, then get them to end your contract and you get to cash in the remainder of your contract or you might get a new title and a "little" cash to ease the pain.

AHS executives get an undeserved $3 million bonus, Good ol' Fred Horne, minister in charge of overseeing the private contractor known as Alberta Health Services, fires the board that approved those same undeserved million dollar bonuses and paid out another $4 million in severance payments to fired board members. Stephen Carter ex-chief of staff to our globetrotting premier, gets let go and Ms. Redford refuses to tell the taxpaying citizens of Alberta how much he received to go quietly into the night. It must have received an obscene amount, why else the secrecy? Did anyone notice that Dr. Chris Eagle, not the AHS CEO anymore, gets to mooch around doing the least he pleases for a year or more on the provincial government payroll at full pay and benefits, while we pay Duncan Cameron full pay and benefits to be the new AHS CEO.

In the meantime the health minister and Alberta Health Services intend on centralizing lab services into a "provincial hub" in Edmonton at a paltry $3 billion.

All this while flood affected Albertans are still waiting for provincial bureaucrats, provincial contractors and special deputy ministers responsible for deflecting hard questions regarding flood damage away from the premier.

UPDATED: 15 arrested in Nelson drug sting - Nelson Star

The Nelson Police Department has arrested 15 alleged drug dealers following an undercover project intended to "determine the scope and extent" of drug use and trafficking in the community.

Police say during the operation, officers from the BC municipal undercover program bought or seized marijuana, cocaine, ketamine, GHB, ecstacy, morphine, and methamphetamines.

Three vehicles were also seized through the civil forfeiture process.

Since the operation ended, police have shared the information they gathered with other agencies for further investigation, chief Wayne Holland said. Other suspects have also been identified.

Some of those arrested have already pled guilty and are serving jail time. However, Holland declined to release their names or give specifics of their sentences for fear of prejudicing other cases still before the courts. Once all have concluded, police plan to issue a summary of the outcomes.

Holland wouldn't confirm whether the suspects had previous convictions, but said all were local residents. While they didn't necessarily work together, they would have been familiar with one another, he added.

"Often one trafficker, if asked for something they don't have, would steer a person to another trafficker. They may work in isolation and not necessarily act as an organized group, but definitely know each other."

He said the undercover operation followed up on suspicions that drug sales in Nelson are on the rise and the substances in question are more potent and dangerous, including synthetic or designer drugs.

"Police always gauge drug sales and transactions in a community. That's normal," he said. "The difference is that this time we saw far more designer drugs of a greater variety. You just don't know what these are comprised of. We're coming across people in medical distress because of them. It's not a pretty sight."

Holland asked citizens, especially parents and teachers, to be on the lookout for the drugs in question and warn their children and students about them.

While they were not surprised that their suspicions about the level of drug trafficking in the community were borne out, Holland said they never expected to arrest so many accused traffickers.

Working with federal crown counsel, he said police tried to make as many purchases as they could in the greatest amounts before deciding who to arrest. "It took a few days to round them up, but we got everybody," he said. "None knew they had sold to police officers."

He wouldn't say when the operation began to avoid identifying the undercover officers and informants who worked with them.

Asked whether the arrests would make a dent in the local drug trade, Holland replied: "Word is it's more difficult to buy some drugs in Nelson right now. We hope that's so but want to send a message to [dealers] that we're onto them and not going to let up." Whether other dealers will take the place of those recently arrested remains to be seen, he said, and is something they will monitor.

Holland said there is no indication that Nelson is a manufacturing centre for the designer drugs, but he believes most of the dealers' customers live here.

"If there's that many engaged in the trade, there must be buyers out there. That's what concerns us," he said, noting that longtime officers say they are seeing different types of drugs in far greater volumes than before.

Teen dating violence: Resources for teens and parents - CBS News

The warning signs:

According to Love is Respect.org, dating abuse is a pattern of destructive behaviors used to exert power and control over a dating partner. It can be hard to tell when a behavior crosses the line from healthy to unhealthy or even abusive. Here are some things to be aware of:

Teens and technology:

Social media adds enormous pressure -- the digital footprint that every young person lives with makes breaking up harder, sometimes humiliating. It's a recipe for disaster. "... the loss, the breakup, it's tweeted ... it's texted about. It's Facebook-ed," Leone said. "Everybody's electronically communicating about it. And what it tends to do is exacerbate the entirety of the situation.

Teen abuse survivor helping others:

Brittny Henderson of Burlington Wis., came face-to face with dating abuse her freshmen year in high school. "It all happened so slowly," Brittny explained of the increasingly aggressive and controlling behavior her once goofy, fun boyfriend started exhibiting. Brittny's father stepped in and ended the relationship for her. She now volunteers at the National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline. "Once you're involved in it, it sucks you in. Anyone can fall victim to abuse."

St Jude's Storm: Four people killed as 100mph winds batter southern England - Telegraph.co.uk
