4 arrested in Pittsburg County drug sting - Seattle Post Intelligencer

SAVANNA, Okla. (AP) — Talk about a wrong number.

Savanna Police Chief David Spears started getting odd text messages shortly after he bought a new cell phone for the police department. An affidavit says the police chief contacted a drug task force after he received a text message Nov. 15 asking if he knew anyone "who wanted some tabs."

Authorities believe the phone number had previously been assigned to someone illegally selling prescription drugs.

The McAlester News-Capital reports that Spears texted the person back and set up a meeting at a hardware store in McAlester to buy Lortabs — a prescription painkiller.

Police arrested four people in the parking lot and seized Xanax, Lortabs and marijuana.

All four are due in court Nov. 29 to face formal charges.

Authorities release names of 4 people killed in New Town - Minot Daily News

NEW TOWN (AP) - Authorities on Monday were investigating the shooting deaths of a woman and her three grandchildren on an American Indian reservation in northwestern North Dakota and the suicide hours later of a man described as a person of interest in the killings.

Martha Johnson, 64, and three of her grandchildren - Benjamin Schuster, 13, Julia Schuster, 10 and Luke Schuster, 6 - were gunned down in her New Town home Sunday afternoon while Johnson's husband was out hunting, Mountrail County Sheriff Ken Halvorson said. The children's 12-year-old brother, who was also in the home but wasn't hurt, called 911, he said.

Hours later in Parshall, a community about 20 miles from New Town that is also on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation, a New Town man in his 20s killed himself with a knife, Halvorson said. He described the man as a person of interest in the earlier slayings, but neither he nor the FBI had released the man's name.

"It happened in front of a deputy and a highway patrolman," Halvorson said of the suicide.

The FBI is leading the investigation because the federal government has jurisdiction over crimes in Indian Country. FBI spokesman Kyle Loven declined to release details, citing the ongoing investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lynn Jordheim referred calls to the FBI, and the state attorney general's office deferred to federal authorities.

Both Halvorson and the FBI said they don't believe there is any danger to the public.

On Monday, there was a teddy bear with a heart painted on it stuffed in the white picket fence that surrounds the Johnsons' ranch-style home, which sits on a corner lot in a quiet residential neighborhood in New Town.

Classes were cancelled at the local school because of the shootings, which Three Affiliated Tribes spokesman Waylon Pretends Eagle said were "a community tragedy." A community prayer vigil was scheduled Monday night.

Neither Johnson nor her grandchildren were enrolled tribal members, but the man who killed himself was, Halvorson said.

Homicide investigation uncovers man wanted on drug charges - New Zealand Herald

Police have arrested a wanted man who has evaded being sentenced on serious drugs charges for more than two years.

Steven Mehrtens, 57, was arrested yesterday by police investigating the murder of Paeroa man Jordan Voudouris, who was shot dead at his pizza store early on June 18.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Whitehead said the arrest appeared unrelated to the homicide investigation.

Mehrtens had been on the run for more than two and a half years after breaching electronic bail while awaiting trial on methamphetamine charges.

He appeared in Tauranga District Court today where he was convicted and sentenced to two months in prison on a charge of wilful damage.

The charge relates to the removal of his electronic monitoring bracelet before he went into hiding.

Mehrtens will be sentenced on the drugs charges in the High Court at Auckland on September 10.

Mr Whitehead said police discovered Mehrten's whereabouts at a small rural property near Katikati while making inquiries into Mr Voudouris' death.

A 51-year-old woman living at the property, who police allege was helping Mehrtens avoid arrest, has been charged with being an accessory after the fact.

She will appear in Tauranga District Court on October 15.

Mr Whitehead said Mehrtens was originally arrested in May 2010 as part of Operation Acacia, a police investigation into the manufacture and sale of methamphetamine.

Mehrtens was granted electronically monitored bail but he removed his bracelet and went into hiding in December that year.

He did not appear at his trial last December and was found guilty of the drugs charges in absentia in the High Court at Auckland.

The charges included conspiracy to deal methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for supply, and two charges each of manufacturing and selling the drug.

The investigation into Mr Voudouris' death continues and police remain interested in hearing from anyone with information relevant to the inquiry.

Hulk Hogan Sex Tape Video Scandal Brings Legal Consequences - Gather Celebs News Channel

The recent Hulk Hogan sex tape video scandal appears to be headed to court, as "The Hulkster" is apparently threatening to sue over the recently leaked footage online. Questions still remain over who would leak such footage online in order to try to bash Hogan.

The news of Hulk's sex tape leak just recently surfaced, coincidentally around the same time his ex-wife, Linda, was busted on a DUI charge. As reported by TMZ.com, Hogan already is working on a cease-and-desist letter to the website that presented the footage. He also has his legal team on the job in an effort to prevent any further displays of the video. One of Hulk's lawyers, David R. Houston, reportedly told TMZ:

"This tape was made secretly without Hulk's knowledge or permission. We are going to do everything in our power to figure out who did it. Anyone displaying the tape will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law."

One has to wonder who was responsible for the leaked Hulk Hogan sex tape since it was an anonymous source that just sent it to Gawker. Now it appears Hulkster and his team are looking to stop that. Unfortunately, as has been the case with many other leaked nude photos and sex tapes, the footage never really dies online and it's hard to round up everyone who watches it or puts it on some random blog. However, the thought of Hulk Hogan coming after you with a legal team might be enough to scare people away.

Who do you think leaked the sex video footage? A former acquaintance of Hogan's or some random person just looking to ruin him? The bigger question for anyone planning to display the footage: "Whatcha gonna do when Hulk's legal team runs wild on you?"

Jaden Smith “Threatened” Girl on Instagram with Obscene Rant - Opposing Views

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett's 14-year-old son Jaden went "bonkers" on a female fan on Instagram, claims MediaTakeOut.

According to the site, which has avery dicey track record when it comes to reporting about the famous family, Jaden told the user she has a "big p***y" and "threatened" to do something obscene to her.

MediaFakeOut writes, "There is something SERIOUSLY WRONG in the Smith household… for the 12 year old [Willow Smith] to be getting GREEN MOHAWKS and the 14 year old [Jaden] to feel COMFORTABLE spouting this FILTH on the internet."

The blog then posts screenshots of a series of explicit messages from the Instagram account @letsmakeItdotorg, which has a photo of Jaden as its avatar.

"We're just gonna pray that Will and Jada can work this out," adds MediaTakeOut.

Well, instead of praying, Gossip Cop simply checked with a rep for Pinkett in order to see if Jaden has any affiliation to this account.

He absolutely does NOT.

The rep tells us, "This was 100% not him."

Jaden's Instagram handle is "@letsmakeitdotorg," but the messages came from a parody account called "@letsmakeltdotorg" — with a lowercase "L" standing in for the "i."

The user clearly states in his bio that the account is "just another funny parody."

Once again, MediaTakeOut gets duped.

More drug abusers arrested, S$18m worth of drugs seized in 2012 - Channel News Asia

More drug abusers arrested, S$18m worth of drugs seized in 2012
Posted: 04 February 2013 1135 hrs

SINGAPORE: Anti-drug officers arrested more drug abusers and seized more drugs in 2012, due to intensified enforcement efforts. The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) said on Monday that the number of people arrested for drug abuse rose by five per cent to 3,481, compared with 3,326 in 2011.

The majority of abusers caught (69 per cent or 2,397) are repeat abusers. This represents a nine per cent increase from the number of repeat abusers caught in 2011.

The number of new abusers arrested dropped by four per cent to 1,084. CNB said this remains a concern as 67 per cent of the new abusers arrested are 29 years old and below.

Heroin and methamphetamine remain the most commonly abused drugs -- about 93 per cent of all drug abusers arrested abused either heroin or methamphetamine.

In 2012, CNB conducted 49 major operations and dismantled 22 drug syndicates.

The intensive all-round enforcement efforts saw a record seizure of drugs. The estimated street value amounted to S$18.3 million, which is 14 per cent higher than the estimated S$16 million worth of drugs seized in 2011.

In particular, CNB seized a record 50.8kg of "ice", of which about 85 per cent was not meant for the local market.

The CNB expressed concern regarding the worsening regional drug situation, saying production continued to set record highs while international syndicates made inroads into the region. It will continue to target and disrupt the supply and demand sides of the drug scourge.

Several Australian towns flooded, 4 people killed - Times of India

In the hard-hit city of Bundaberg, 385 kilometers (240 miles) north of Brisbane, rescue crews plucked 1,000 people to safety after the river that runs through town broke its banks, sending fast-moving, muddy water pouring into streets and homes. Around 1,500 residents fled to evacuation centers, while patients at the local hospital were being airlifted to Brisbane as a precaution.

"Listen to the roar of the water - that's not helicopters," Queensland Premier Campbell Newman said. "You see a lot of locations where there are literally sort of rapids. There's white water out there, so it is very dangerous."

Queensland residents and officials were being particularly cautious, after floodwaters from heavy rain in late 2010 and early 2011 left much of the state under water in the worst flooding Australia had seen in decades. The 2010-2011 floods killed 35 people, damaged or destroyed 30,000 homes and businesses and left Brisbane, Australia's third-largest city, under water for days.

The current flood crisis was not as severe, though some areas in northern New South Wales were hit by more than half a meter (about 20 inches) of rain, State Emergency Services Deputy Commissioner Steve Pearce said. Four people have died, including a 3-year-old boy who was hit by a falling tree in Brisbane.

"We're expecting flash flooding, we're expecting trees to be brought down, wires to be brought down by these winds," Pearce said. "We're expecting a very challenging 24 hours in front of us."

In the New South Wales city of Grafton, 600 kilometers (370 miles) north of Sydney, 2,500 people were ordered to leave their homes as the Clarence River continued to rise.

"We are in a dangerous situation that requires a timely response and I think the best thing to do is to evacuate," said Richie Williamson, the mayor of Clarence Valley Council.

The flooding was caused by the remnants of a tropical cyclone that also caused severe weather including tornadoes and created sea foam that came ashore on the Queensland coast. The foam covered roads in places, causing traffic to be diverted. Elsewhere, beach-goers waded into the bubbles to pose for photographs.

Nxesi asked to explain 'obscene' spending - News24

2013-01-20 16:33

Johannesburg - Public Works Minister Thulas Nxesi must explain how R65 million was spent renovating ministers' houses, the DA said on Sunday.

"Some of the amounts spent on renovating just one house are, frankly, astronomical," said DA MP Anchen Dreyer.

"Minister Nxesi needs to explain why the decision was made to spend so much money on renovations, and he must provide a detailed breakdown of the expenditure," she said.

The Sunday Times reported that Nxesi made the admission in response to a parliamentary question on 14 December.

The renovation bills reportedly included: R15m on a Cape Town house allocated to Rural Development Minister Gugile Nkwinti, R10.67m to overhaul a house earmarked for use by Transport Deputy Minister Lydia Chikunga, and just under R5m to upgrade a house for Agriculture Minister Tina Joemat-Pettersson.

"Minister Nkwinti does not have power over state assets or the homes. He just takes whatever the department of public works allocates," his spokesperson Mtobeli Mxotwa told the Sunday Times:

Chikunga told the newspaper it was "unfortunate and unfair" to be linked to the exorbitant spending.

"I have never requested renovations of R10m," she said.

Dreyer said the expenditure was "obscene".

"Surelythe money would have been better spent on upgrading facilities such as the run-down police station in Carletonville and the police barracks in Durban that I visited last year."

Dreyer said she would now ask Nxesi to explain why so much money had been spent on renovations.

21 people killed on farms in 2012 - Belfast Telegraph

Thursday, 3 January 2013

Farm deaths accounted for almost half of all workplace fatalities last year, figures show.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) confirmed 47 people were killed in workplace accidents in 2012, down 13% from 54 a year earlier. The victims included two children and two members of the public.

The HSA said the agriculture sector recorded the highest number of deaths for the third year in succession, with 21.

Martin O'Halloran, chief executive, said efforts have been made to improve performance in farming.

He said: "We have run awareness campaigns, distributed guidance and tailored our inspection programme to help create a culture of safe farming. Some progress has been made but unfortunately, last year 21 families lost loved ones due to farm accidents. Farms are family homes as well as workplaces so farmers need to realise that safe farming is about protecting themselves, their family and their businesses."

The biggest reduction in fatalities was in the transportation and storage sector, with one death reported compared to seven in 2011, while there were no fatalities reported in mining and quarrying.

Elsewhere the construction sector saw an increase in fatalities from six in 2011 to eight in 2012 while 19 deaths involved vehicles. Seven fishermen also died, including the victims of the Tit Bonhomme which sank at the mouth of Glandore Bay. There were about 7,000 non-fatal injuries reported to the authority.

Mr O'Halloran said the health and social work sector has experienced a particularly high level of non-fatal injuries in recent years. "Incidents involving manual handling and slips, trips and falls tend to be the most common cause of injury," he added.

The Irish branch of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) said the statistics for deaths in agriculture gave a terrible sense of deja vu.

Michelle Peate-Morgan, IOSH chairwoman, said: "We have had almost 120 work-related fatalities in the sector in the last five years. Clearly, we have farms and fisheries in Ireland that have a very critical need to improve their health and safety standards."

City police seize $18000 worth of drugs, arrest 2 - The Republic

Follow Us!

Columbus Police seized more than $18,000 worth of hallucinogenic mushrooms and marijuana and arrested two people Friday to stop an alleged drug operation they believe was serving teens and others.

Cops also found a large amount of cash, ledgers recording sales of drugs, scales and a semi-automatic handgun, according to police spokesman Lt. Matt Myers.

In recent weeks, residents reported to police suspicious activity and foot traffic at a residence at 2127 California St. Myers said the department's narcotics unit began

surveillance.

Police obtained a search warrant late Friday afternoon and Lt. Steve Norman arrested Trent J. Burton, 23, owner of the home. He faces preliminary charges of dealing marijuana, a Class D felony, possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, and dealing in a controlled substance, a Class B felony.

He was taken to Bartholomew County Jail, where is being held on $75,000 bond.

Marty J. Sutton, 18, of 205 Walnut St., Jonesville, also was arrested at the home on a preliminary charge of possession of marijuana.

Myers said the drugs amounted to 10 pounds of mushrooms and one pound of marijuana. He said police were especially concerned because the residence is close to Columbus North High School.

Myers called hallucinogenic mushrooms "kind of a club drug," especially among the younger set. He said police still are trying to determine how many people were involved in illegal transactions at the home.

"We realize that marijuana is legal in some states," Myers said. "But not in Indiana. So we will continue to enforce state law."

Vallejo rapper arrested on drug charges - San Francisco Chronicle

A Vallejo rapper accused of leading an Ecstasy drug ring connected with a record label has been arrested in Las Vegas, federal prosecutors said Thursday.

Michael Lott, who performs as Miami the Most, was one of more than two dozen people charged in April with distributing Ecstasy and other drugs. He was arrested Wednesday and will be brought to Sacramento for further proceedings, authorities said.

Prosecutors said the defendants were rappers and associates of Thizz Entertainment, a label started by rap artist Andre "Mac Dre" Hicks, who was shot to death in 2004.

Agent Brian Nehring of the Drug Enforcement Administration said in a sworn declaration accompanying the charges that Thizz is a slang term for MDMA, or Ecstasy, and many of the label's rap lyrics "glorify and promote the use and distribution of MDMA pills." Lott became a co-leader of the label after Hicks' death, said Nehring, who referred to the drug ring as Lott's trafficking organization.

Prosecutors said the drugs were mostly sold in Vallejo's Crest neighborhood, but some defendants were arrested in Los Angeles, Oklahoma City and New York. Lott is also charged with distributing crack cocaine and heroin. Among those still being sought is rapper Bruce "Little Bruce" Thurman, prosecutors said.

Escatawpa's Eric 'E-40' Tait arrested again on drug charges - Mississippi Press (blog)

ESCATAWPA, Mississippi ---The Narcotics Task Force of Jackson County made the arrest of "a major drug dealer" related to criminal activity at "The Hole" in Kreole, according to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said Eric Eugene "E-40" Tait, 40, has been a known drug dealer for years and ''The Hole'' is an area of vacant overgrown lots and houses that has been riddled with drugs, prostitution, murders and robberies for at least 30 years.

Community members and business owners provided information that was instrumental in Tait's arrest. He was arrested at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at his home at the 4000 block of Knowlcreast Dr. in Escatawpa.

Drug agents seized a stolen 38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver, a quarter piece of a crack cocaine cookie and an undetermined amount of cash. Agents believe the gun was stolen in a 2008 auto burglary that happened near Tait's home.

Tait was charged on a possession of crack cocaine offense with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm. He faces up to 14 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, if convicted. Because Tait had a weapon when he was arrested, the judge has the option to double the sentence and the fine raising them to possibly 28 years and a $500,000 fine.

Terry Jean "TP" Patterson, 49, who is Tait's mother-in-law, was also arrested. She was charged on a possession of crack cocaine offense. She remains at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center pending a bail hearing.

Tait was arrested last month by agents on a drug charge and he was free on $5,000 bail. That bail is expected to be revoked and Tait should remain in the Jackson County Adult Detention until the October charge is resolved.

Sheriff Mike Byrd said anyone with information about drug activity in Jackson County should call the Narcotics Task Force of Jackson County at 228-769-3302.

Five arrested after drugs, guns, explosive device found - Point Pleasant Register

ASHTON — Five people have been arrested by the Mason County Sheriff's Department after a seizure of drugs and guns at an Ashton residence, which also contained an explosive device.

Sheriff Greg Powers reports four males and one female have been arrested after an investigation which began with a complaint about cars blocking Keister Rd. in Southern Mason County. Cpt. Terry from the sheriff's department arrived to investigate this complaint which led to not only five arrests and the removal of a 20-month old infant from a residence on Keister Rd., but the discovery of a "destructive device."

Arrested were Matthew Gibson, 24, Ashton; Krista Aeiker, age unreported, Ashton; Joshua Smith, 23, Ashton; John Cornell, 22, Apple Grove; Michael Mayes, 47, Ashton. The Mason County Sheriff's Department was still working on processing this case at press time but charges being filed include possession of a controlled substance with a firearm and child abuse.

In addition, the West Virginia State Police's Bomb Squad was called to disarm the explosive device in the residence which Powers said appeared to be set as a type of booby trap which acted as a homemade security device. The device was removed and disarmed with one of the male subjects facing the charge of possession of destructive device.

Initial reports were that deputies found an active meth lab at the residence which Powers said was not true. As for what types of drugs were found, more information on that, as well as information on the guns and explosive device, should be available Monday as the situation was still under investigation and unfolding for most of the day Saturday. The suspects have been transported to the Western Regional Jail.

In addition to Cpt. Terry, on the scene from the sheriff's department were Sgt. Varian, Cpl. Powell, Chief Deputy Downing and Powers. Also, the Valley Fire Department assisted in helping direct traffic.

Powers is well aware there is a drug problem in Mason County and as he said on Saturday, the sheriff's department is there to do its part to remedy that situation but that can't be done without the help of residents reporting suspicious activity, like the type reported on Saturday.

Two people killed on pit row in crash at Marysville Raceway Park - Sacramento Bee

Two people were killed Saturday evening at Marysville Raceway Park when a sprint car careened at high speed over a wall and into the pit area.

Yuba County Sheriff's Department officials said a 68-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 14-year-old was pronounced dead later at Rideout Memorial Hospital.

The names of the two victims were not being released Saturday night, sheriff's Capt. Ron Johnson said.

Track announcer Steven Blakesley told ABC News the 14-year-old was the driver's cousin and the older victim owned several race cars.

Marysville track promoter Paul Hawes confirmed the two people who were struck are part of the driver's family and crew, but he declined to identify them.

Blakesley named the driver in several tweets as 17-year-old Chase Johnson, a high school senior from Petaluma. He was uninjured, sheriff's officials said. Johnson has been been in more than 500 races, beginning at age 4, according to his website.

The crash occurred at 6:04 p.m. during warmup laps for the first race of this year's California Sprint Car Civil War Series. The race was canceled.

Hawes said the driver lost control in the first turn, went over a retaining wall and slid 100 feet along a K-rail barrier before hitting the victims. No one else was reported injured.

Announcer Blakesley immediately tweeted the incident.

"We have had a very serious accident. Chase Johnson had a problem and flew into the pits. Several people appear to be injured."

Yuba Sheriff's Capt. Johnson said deputies were uncertain late Saturday what caused the crash. Blakesley speculated in a tweet that Johnson's car may have had mechanical problems because it did not slow down.

Blakesley later reported, "The drivers have got together and agreed to donate all the back gate money to the families."

Marysville Raceway Park is a quarter-mile banked clay oval a mile east of Marysville near the town of Linda.

Nine dead after bus overturns east of Beirut - The Daily Star

BEIRUT: Nine people were killed and 29 others wounded after a bus carrying Syrian workers and their families overturned Friday morning on the Kahaleh road east of Beirut, the Lebanese Red Cross said.

George Kettaneh, the general secretary of the Lebanese organization, told The Daily Star that women and children were among the casualties.

Security sources said the coach, which carried a Syrian license plate, tipped over at the steep slope at Kahaleh in the district of Aley, Mount Lebanon, about 13 kilometers from the capital.

The officer at Bashar al-Sukhni travel agency in Syria, Mohammad Hammoud, told The Daily Star by telephone that the passengers – all from Manbij in the Aleppo province – were Syrian workers and their families. He did not know their exact number.

Hammoud identified the bus driver by his first name – Jassem – but could not confirm whether he was among the dead.

Lebanese Red Cross teams rushed the injured to nearby hospitals.

A Lebanese Red Cross statement said that the rescue operation was called off three hours after the accident, which took place at 4:51 a.m.

The security sources said the bus, registered in Syria's northeastern province of Hasakeh, was headed to Beirut when the accident occurred.

Frequent road accidents take place at the same spot of the Kahaleh highway.

The highway was blocked in both directions soon after the fatal crash. At around 9:30 a.m., police reopened the section of the road leading down to Beirut.

Efforts are still under way to remove the bus and clear the other part of the road.

Rahm: Jonylah Watkins' Murder a 'Senseless, Despicable Act of Violence' - DNAinfo

Mayor Rahm Emanuel

Mayor Rahm Emanuel said he found the death of 6-month-old Jonylah Watkins "heartbreaking."

(DNAinfo/Ted Cox)

CHICAGO — Mayor Rahm Emanuel mourned the shooting death of 6-month-old Jonylah Watkins Tuesday as "a senseless, despicable act of violence that is heartbreaking."

Projecting a weary sense of frustration rather than outright moral indignation, Emanuel said, "You can make progress," citing the lowered murder rates and shooting incidents citywide in February and early March. "And then you get a senseless, despicable act of violence like this that is just heartbreaking."

Emanuel said the incident transcended any national sense of outrage about Chicago's gun violence.

"It's not about image," he said. "This was a child, 6 months."

He did not even rise to questions raised about whether the baby's father, Jonathan Watkins, was cooperating with police, saying he'd leave that to law-enforcement officials and calling on citizens to come forward with information to "catch the murderer."

Instead, he focused on the safety of all city children.

"The child is truly innocent," Emanuel said. "Everybody has a role to play to make sure every child is in a safe city, in a safe neighborhood, in a safe community, on a safe street.

"I will not rest until every child grows up in that environment," Emanuel added.

Emanuel made the remarks at a Homan Square Park news conference celebrating a "Summer of Learning" initiative to keep Chicago children learning throughout the summer at various citywide community and civic organizations and cultural institutions.

Bus carrying Seton Hill lacrosse team crashes in Pa.; two people killed - NCAA.com

CARLISLE, Pa. — A tour bus carrying a college's women's lacrosse team to a game went off the Pennsylvania Turnpike on Saturday and crashed into a tree, killing a pregnant coach and the driver and sending others to hospitals, authorities said.

Lacrosse players from Seton Hill and three coaches were among the 23 people aboard when the bus crashed at about 9 a.m., turnpike spokeswoman Renee Colborn said. It's not clear what caused the crash, but state police were investigating, said Megan Silverstram of the Cumberland County public safety department.

Kristina Quigley of Greensburg, 30, was flown to a hospital and died there from injuries from the crash, Cumberland County authorities said Saturday. Quigley was about six months pregnant and her unborn child did not survive.

The driver, 61-year-old Anthony Guaetta of Johnstown, died at the scene of the crash. Two other victims were flown by helicopter to Penn State Hershey Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Danielle Ran said. She did not give their conditions. Officials said all other passengers were taken to hospitals as a precaution.

The bus came to a stop upright on the side of the road with part of its left side shorn off, photos from the scene showed, though it's unclear whether that was from the impact or rescue operation.

The lacrosse team was headed to play Saturday afternoon at Millersville, about 50 miles from the crash site in central Pennsylvania, for its fourth game of the year. The Griffins were off to a 3-1. Both Saturday's game and a Sunday home game were canceled after the crash, and Seton Hill, a Catholic school of about 2,500 students near Pittsburgh, said a memorial Mass was planned for Sunday night on campus.

Quigley, a native of Baltimore, was married and had a young son, Gavin, the school said. She was in her second season as coach and led the Griffins to 11 wins last year. She came to the school from Erskine College in Due West, S.C., where she started the school's Division II program. She also worked as an assistant coach at Duquesne, her alma mater in Pittsburgh, the school said.

The bus operator, Mlaker Charter & Tours, of Davidsville, Pa., is up to date on its inspections, which include bus and driver safety checks, said Jennifer Kocher, a spokeswoman for the state Public Utility Commission, which regulates bus companies.

The agency's motor safety inspectors could think of no accidents or violations involving the company that would raise a red flag, she said, though complete safety records were not available Saturday.

Mlaker sent investigators to the scene, company dispatcher Kelly Hay said. The company had no information yet from the investigators and could not comment, she said.

State environmental officials were also sent to the scene because of a diesel fuel spill from the bus.

According to Waterville police Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey, police received a tip Friday from a confidential source that the woman, Ebony Howard, 28, would be entering Waterville around midnight with the drugs, along with William Waters, 31, also of New York City.

Police received a description of the vehicle and the two people and watched the area for several hours that night before spotting and arresting them at 12:30 a.m. Saturday at an Irving gas station on Kennedy Memorial Drive.

Rumsey said the arrest, made by Detective Duane Cloutier, occurred without incident. He said that after the two were detained, Howard was searched and police found the pills "packed into her body cavities."

Rumsey said the drugs had a street value of $20,000.

Waters also had a small amount of marijuana and 2.7 grams of a substance being tested in Augusta, Rumsey said, adding that police suspect the substance is ecstasy.

Each is charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, police said. The charges are class A crimes, which can be punished by up to 30 years in prison and $50,000 in fines. Rumsey said police expect more charges against Waters after the substance is tested.

About eight police officers, including an agent from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, assisted with the surveillance and arrest.

Rumsey said it is not unusual to find out-of-state drug dealers selling prescriptions in central Maine.

Water and Howard had not been released on bail by Saturday afternoon. Water's bail is set at $50,000 cash, and Howard's bail is set at $30,000 cash. They are both scheduled to appear at a videoconference arraignment Monday afternoon.

Former Football Star, Brother Arrested; Face Major Drug Dealing Charges - Patch.com

A pair of brothers is facing multiple drug charges following a two-month investigation by the Narcotics and Gang Investigation Section of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation revealed their alleged sale of cocaine and heroin from the Bayshore region down to Long Branch, Asbury Park and Neptune, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said in a released statement.

Brothers Anthony Cattouse Jr., 32, and Kenneth "The Moose" Cattouse, 27, face numerous drug-related charges after undercover investigators allegedly purchased cocaine and heroin from the pair as part of the two-month probe.

The sting resulted in the seizure of more than $4,700 in cash, 37 bricks of heroin, cocaine, Oxycodone and two late-model vehicles — a 2009 Chrysler 300, and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro SS — which were suspected proceeds from the sale of drugs by the two men.

During at least one of the undercover drug transactions, Anthony Cattouse brought along his 6-year-old daughter, and Kenneth Cattouse had his 7-month-old daughter at his residence where investigators found drugs and suspected cash proceeds from drug sales.

Both men are being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution.

Kenneth Cattouse, a former record-breaking football player at Keyport High School, who earned himself All-American honors his senior year, was arrested on Friday, March 8, after investigators from the Bayshore Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant of his apartment in the Longbrook Apartments complex, 2 Sutton Drive, Matawan.

There they found just under a half ounce of cocaine and more than $3,200 in U.S. currency inside the apartment he shared with his live-in girlfriend Stephanie Arroyo, 27, and their 7-month-old daughter.

Kenneth Cattouse, who continues to hold the state's all-time high school football rushing record, is charged with: one count of second degree distribution of cocaine, one count of second degree possession with intent to distribute cocaine, four counts of third degree distribution of cocaine, five counts of third- degree possession of cocaine, five counts of third degree possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Arroyo is charged with: third-degree possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a summons pending a future court date.

Kenneth Cattouse, who studied criminal justice while playing football at Division 1 Troy University, and Arroyo also are each charged with endangering the welfare of a child after their 7-month-old daughter was found in the apartment at the time of the alleged drug sales.

Anthony Cattouse, Jr. is charged with: one count of second-degree distribution of heroin, one count of second-degree possession with intent to distribute heroin, six counts third-degree distribution of heroin, eight counts of third- degree possession of controlled dangerous substances (heroin and Oxycodone), six counts of third degree possession with intent to distribute heroin, one count of third-degree possession with intent to distribute heroin within 1,000 feet of Keyport High School, one count of third-degree distribution within 1,000 feet of Keyport High School, and endangering the welfare of a child.

The investigation also led to the arrest of Vincent Laing, 29, after detectives recovered 19 bricks of heroin at his residence at 63 Schindler Court, Neptune. He was charged with third degree possession of heroin with intent to distribute and released after posting $100,000 bail.

Despite these charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of the trial rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and State law.

Focus on Zumba teacher in Maine prostitution case - Arizona Daily Star

The focus of a small-town prostitution scandal has turned to a Zumba fitness instructor captured in scores of sex videos now that an insurance agent accused of being her business partner has been convicted.

Video and testimony during insurance agent Mark Strong's trial indicated dance instructor Alexis Wright's trysts were captured by a hidden video camera in a sophisticated operation featuring meticulous ledgers and calendars and the use of license plates to identify clients. Strong, who has acknowledged having an affair with Wright, monitored the sex acts from his office 100 miles away.

Wright faces charges of prostitution and tax violations. She has pleaded not guilty and will stand trial in May if there's no plea deal.

Deputy District Attorney Justina McGettigan said she'll meet with Wright's lawyer next week for a settlement conference.

Wright's lawyer, Sarah Churchill, said the issues are different with Wright's case than with Strong's case. She declined to comment on settlement talks.

The prostitution scandal in Kennebunk, a village known more for its sea captains' homes and beaches than for crime, attracted international attention in the fall after it was reported that Wright's ledgers indicated she had more than 150 clients and made $150,000 over 18 months.

Authorities then set the town abuzz with word that they would be charging each of the johns, leading residents to wonder who they were.

After Strong's conviction Wednesday, McGettigan said the guilty verdicts vindicated law enforcement officials accused of putting too much time and money into the investigation that led to charges, mostly misdemeanors, against the two key figures.

"Prostitution is not legal in Maine. We don't promote prostitution. We don't want it in our communities," she said. "The Kennebunk Police Department did a fabulous job investigating this despite all of the negative comments that were thrown out that it was a poor use of resources. In fact, it was a good use of resources because it makes our communities safer."

More than 60 john suspects have been charged.

While Wright is accused of engaging in prostitution, it was Strong who called the shots by controlling, supervising and managing the prostitution business, prosecutors said.

The married businessman acknowledged helping Wright her open the Kennebunk studio but contended he didn't profit from her prostitution.

Jurors convicted him of all 13 counts: 12 of promoting prostitution and one of conspiracy. Combined, there's a possible prison sentence of 13 years, but that's unlikely because Strong, 57, had no prior criminal record.

Strong, of Thomaston, showed little reaction as the verdicts were announced. His wife buried her head in their son's shoulder and quietly sobbed.

Later, Strong said his family needs to heal.

"It's not easy, obviously," Strong said outside the courthouse. "It's going to take time."

Testimony and videos presented to jurors indicated Strong was familiar with operational details of Wright's activities, chatting via Skype before and after her appointments and watching the sexual encounters from his office in Thomaston. Wright provided clients' license plate numbers to Strong, who used his position as a private investigator to check them out, prosecutors say.

Before each tryst, prosecutors say, Wright took time to make sure her hidden video camera was pointed at the massage table where they took place.

The judge previously dismissed 46 invasion-of-privacy counts that stemmed from videotaping of clients without their knowledge.

Wright, too, faces 46 invasion-of-privacy charges along with 50 additional charges that include prostitution and tax violations.

As for Strong, he has been released on personal recognizance pending sentencing on March 19.

The verdict in the delay-plagued trial came more than six weeks after the start of jury selection, which was halted twice because of legal action that went to the state Supreme Court, leaving potential jurors in limbo for weeks.

Defense lawyer Dan Lilley said he was disappointed by the verdict but is focusing on sentencing and possible appeals.

Dubuque man accused of sending obscene material to a minor - Dubuque Telegraph Herald

A Dubuque man who ran mission trips to Haiti has been arrested and charged with sending nude pictures of himself to a juvenile Haitian male.

Robert A. Buss, 49, of 1975 W. Third St., turned himself in to Dubuque police today on a charge of dissemination of obscene material to a minor, a serious misdemeanor.

The Archdiocese of Dubuque issued a statement, saying Buss has served as a religious education teacher (catechist) for St. Anthony's parish since 2007. He also participated in parish-sponsored service trips to Haiti, where St. Anthony supports an impoverished parish, St. Montfort, in Port-de-Paix.

According to court records, Buss is accused of sending nude photos of himself to a minor he had met in Haiti during one of his several missionary trips to the country. Police said they were provided email records, Facebook messages and photos that had been sent between Buss and the male, who is now 18 years old, but was 16 at the time Buss allegedly started sending photos in 2011. The photos that were emailed showed Buss nude.

The email dated Sept. 6, 2011, includes a message that states, "Be careful with these please."

Police executed a search warrant at Buss' residence and found numerous computers and storage devices that were seized for analysis. According to police, Buss ultimately admitted that his computers would contain pornographic

images of himself and other males, including the juvenile in question, and he admitted that he engaged in sex acts with the boy in April 2011. Court records state that Buss admitted to knowing the juvenile was a high school student at the time of this communication and during their sexual encounter.

A female who answered the phone at the Buss residence today declined comment on his behalf. Buss is married with four children.

The Rev. Steve Rosonke, St. Anthony's pastor, spoke with Buss on Monday but declined to share details of their discussion.

"Bob and his family are involved in and supportive of many parish activities, and there was never any reason to wonder about his actions," Rosonke said.

He did not know whether St. Montfort Parish had been notified of Buss' arrest.

"We've never dealt with anything like this before, but we're trying to be transparent so no one will think we're hiding anything," the priest said.

He will speak to St. Anthony parishioners about the charge against Buss at Mass this weekend, and counselors will be brought in for religious education classes on Wednesday, March 20.

"We want to pray not only for the victim, but for the Buss family as well," Rosonke said.

Assistant Dubuque County Attorney Chris Corken asked that any parents or individuals who have concerns should call the county attorney's office at 563-589-4470.

"He's had access to a lot of kids," said Corken, who added that the police are still investigating the incident and that the alleged sex acts are under investigation by the federal government.

Buss was released on $10,000 unsecured bond following his initial appearance today. Corken said Judge Mark Hostager took his passport and ordered that he have no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18, other than his son. Buss also is not allowed to use any computers or other forms of electronic communication other than his cellphone. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

Sister Carol Hoverman, director of Communications for the Archdiocese of Dubuque, wrote in the statement that Buss did not have access to St. Anthony computers and that he participated in a safe environment training program and background check before becoming a catechist.

"We have no information to believe that Mr. Buss has been involved in any unlawful activity as a catechist at St. Anthony's," the statement read. "If you have any information to the contrary, you should contact our local law enforcement officials."

St. Anthony administration has placed Buss on immediate leave until further notice.

"The alleged behaviors that prompted the arrest were unknown to St. Anthony's Parish," the statement said. "Parish administrators are fully cooperating with law enforcement officials."

The obscene awards by the Linden COI cannot be allowed to stand - Stabroek News

Dear Editor,

Although others have condemned the size of the compensation awarded by the Linden Commission of Enquiry (the Report uses the words "awarded" and "recommended" interchangeably),  the travesty of justice becomes clearer if we break the figures down. This is a strategy Red Thread often uses: to break down large figures into what they mean for each household or individual per day: what is the Old Age Pension per day per recipient? Public Assistance?  The minimum wage? The wages of domestic workers, security guards, shop assistants, cooks and cleaners in small restaurants? What can each wage buy? How does it compare to the cost of items of basic food?  Of shelter?  Of sending children to school? Of medicine? Of transport? Of utility bills? We started doing this because we were tired of the self-congratulating announcements of the millions of dollars in increases to various sectors of poor people. We were also tired of the opposition parties' willingness to discuss budgets only in terms of whether or not  "macro-economic fundamentals are sound". We've previously quoted Wintress, a Red Thread member, who muttered as she was listening to a budget debate "But me micro-economic fundamentals not doing so good."

With Red Thread going to court regularly with women and children who are poor, we bear witness to the injustice that the justice system frequently metes out to those with less social power. Thus, unlike the opposition political parties, we were never excited about having a Commission of Enquiry, with or without  "foreign" members; why would their "foreignness" make them any fairer to poor people?  We listened without surprise to the condescension of some Commissioners during the proceedings. But in the most material way, the built-in injustice of the Commission of Enquiry was expressed in the size of the compensation the Commissioners awarded the families of Allan Lewis, Shemroy Bouyea and Ron Somerset. We're not sure that everyone has grasped the degree to which those awards trivialize the lives of the three men and the families they left behind.

It is possible that the zeroes on the number "million" are hiding the reality. We want to break down the figures so that the insult becomes more visible.

Let's estimate the number of years that each of the men might have lived in the normal course of things (that is, if they had not been murdered) by using the average male life expectancy. Let's use the uncontested figure published in 2010, which was 66.5 years:

- 46 year old Allan Lewis might have lived and earned an income for another 19.5 years, which would make the award of $3,000,000 the equivalent of $153,846 a year or $421 a day. With that amount,  his mother can afford to buy herself  two pints of rice and one pint of peas,  or a half pound of milk and a two ounces of cheese, or a half pound of milk and three loose sausages from a corner shop.

- 24 year old Shemroy Bouyea, who might have lived for another 42.5 years, was valued at $133,333 per year or $365 a day. With that, his mother could buy a half pound of milk or a loaf of bread and two eggs. 18 year old Ron Somerset could have been expected to live another 48.5 years, which means that the award of $2,000,000 amounts to $41,237 per year or $113 per day. With that, his mother could afford two loose tennis rolls from a corner shop with $33 change or one pound of flour with $13 change. The lives and potential earning capacity of these three human beings were devalued to this level by men and women who were paid between G$14 million and G$16 million for a month's work, that is, between G$480,000 and G$540,000 for a six hour day.

On one side of the scale, lives found to be worth G$113 to G$421 a day; on the other, lives thought to be worth G$480,000 to G$540,000 a (six-hour) day. Even if the families decide to accept the awards because they need the money, this obscenity, which one of our local Commissioners sees as "adequate" compensation, cannot be allowed to stand.

Yours faithfully,
AndaiyeKaren de Souza

Violence and Mental Illness: Victims, Not Perpetrators - PsychCentral.com (blog)

Violence and Mental Illness: Victims, Not PerpetratorsAs lawmakers across the country continue to pass ill-conceived laws implicating people with mental illness as having a greater penchant for violence (despite the scientific evidence that says otherwise), a new study has come out showing what most mental health advocates have long known. People with mental illness are far more likely to be victims of violence than perpetrators of it.

The study — published in the BMJ and conducted on data derived from the entire population of Sweden (can we say, "Big study!") — found "After adjustment for sociodemographic confounders, any mental disorder was associated with a 4.9-fold risk of homicidal death, relative to people without mental disorders."

In plain English — people with mental illness in Sweden were at nearly 5 times the risk of being murdered than citizens without a mental illness diagnosis.

Rather than wasting time passing laws to try and minimize outlier, tragic events (which, by their very definition, cannot be minimized by the passage of new laws), we instead should be putting more resources into protecting and helping treat people with mental illness.

The researchers examined the 615 homicidal deaths that occurred in Sweden from 2001 to 2008, in a population of over 7 million. Just to put that 615 into some perspective, that's nearly the number of murders in just one year in New York City (ranging from 414 – 536/year in the past few years; NYC has a population of over 8 million).

The researchers looked at a wealth of demographic data and characteristics — such as gender, race and income — to ensure these variables might not be contributing to the relationship the researchers found.

They found that the risk of being murdered was highest, at nine-fold, for people with substance use disorders, a number that may of course be subject to confounding lifestyle variables. But it was also increased for people with other mental illnesses in a way that couldn't be explained by substance use.

Those with diagnosed personality disorders, for example, had a 3.2 times increased risk of being a victim of murder. For depression, the risk was increased by a factor of 2.6, for anxiety disorders, 2.2, and for schizophrenia, 1.8.

Some were at even greater risk than others. "Unmarried males with low socioeconomic status were particularly likely to be victimized; they were also at a heightened risk for suicide or accidental death, as previous studies have already established."

The researchers concluded,

In this large [...] study, people with mental disorders, including those with substance use disorders, personality disorders, depression, anxiety disorders, or schizophrenia, had greatly increased risks of homicidal death. Interventions to reduce violent death among people with mental disorders should tackle victimization and homicidal death in addition to suicide and accidents, which share common risk factors.

And yet has any lawmaker in the U.S. suggested a law to better help and protect the population most at risk for becoming a victim of violence?

Not a one.

Man in USJ-R sex video undergoes lie detector test - Cebu Daily News

By

The former boyfriend of the 24-year-old female student of University of San Jose-Recletos (USJ-R) who figured in a sex video scandal that went viral underwent a lie detector test at the National Bureau of Investigation in Central Visayas yesterday afternoon.

Accompanied by his lawyer Chevrolie Maglasang, Mario (not his real name) voluntarily apeared before the NBI to prove he had nothing to do with spread of the sex video.

"We came here to shed light on the investigation. It's up to the NBI to determine whether he is a suspect or a victim," Maglasang told the reporters.

The lie detector test lasted for about two hours.

Mario, an 18-year-old graduating student in one of Cebu's universities, declined to answer questions from the media. He asked Maglasang to answer in his behalf.

Maglasang said they are exerting efforts so the truth behind the uploading of the sex video will be revealed.

"There are speculations that he (Mario) was the one who uploaded the video in the internet. In a way, we're hoping that his decision to undergo a polygraph exam will absolve him of any doubts in the eyes of the public," she said.

A lie detector test, she said, is not admissible in court yet they chose to let Mario undergo the procedure.

"A polygraph exam has no bearing in court but at least on the mind of the public, our client is cleared," Maglasang said.

Results of the lie detector test will be sent to the NBI central office in Manila for approval, said NBI-7 polygraph examiner Zari Zamora.

Results

He said he already knew the results yesterday. But he declined to reveal them to the media.

The results of the lie detector test will be used by the NBI-7 in their investigation to find out who uploaded the sex video between Mario and her ex-girlfriend.

The face of the man in the viral sex video was not identifiable.

Mario, a marine transport student, earlier told the NBI that the cell phone he and his partner used in recording their tryst got lost in August 2011.

He mentioned names of the people who were with him when his cellphone was lost.

Direct link

The NBI decided to ask Mario to explain since he is the direct link that may lead to those responsible for uploading the video into the Web.

The NBI led by supervising agent Rey Villordon earlier planned to summon Mario's companions.

He said Mario could be charged under the Anti-photo and video Voyeurism Act if they find out that he was the one who uploaded the sex video on the Internet.

The 24-year-old female student of the USJ-R involved in the sex video scandal sought the assistance of the NBI-7 to identify and arrest those responsible for uploading the video on the Internet.

CPS, family court warned of violence by alleged hatchet murderer - Sacramento Bee

Sacramento County Child Protective Services received a report alleging violent behavior and drug abuse by Phillip Raymond Hernandez 22 days before he allegedly killed his 9-year-old son with a hatchet in February in their South Natomas home.

Despite the warnings about Hernandez, CPS didn't consider the situation serious enough to respond immediately, "as the children do not appear to be in imminent danger at this time."

The information is contained in documents released by CPS in response to a Public Records Act request by The Bee.

In a separate document filed in Sacramento County family court this week, the boy's mother said it was not the first time she had warned the system about Phillip Hernandez.

Jessica Hernandez said she pleaded with a judge in December to give her custody of her two boys because of the risk they faced from their father.

"I was ignored, and the judge refused to look at my evidence," she wrote. "Nothing was done, and (Phillip Hernandez) murdered my son in cold blood. ... I wish somebody would have listened to me."

Phillip Hernandez faces a charge of murder in Sacramento Superior Court in Matthew's death.

The boy, who was killed Feb. 26, joins an extensive list of children killed in recent years after being the subject of a CPS investigation for alleged abuse or neglect. The agency has been subjected to intense scrutiny for its handling of such cases.

In her court filing, Jessica Hernandez said she made the Feb. 4 report to CPS. It said Phillip Hernandez used cocaine and methamphetamine and was "very abusive verbally and physically."

The report went on to say that Phillip Hernandez "has automatic rifles at his home even though (he) is not supposed to have weapons as (he) is a convicted felon," and that Hernandez let his two boys play with the guns.

Hernandez has two convictions for domestic abuse involving the boys' mother, records show.

Jessica Hernandez declined to discuss the case with The Bee, saying she isn't strong enough to talk about it publicly yet.

Ed Howard, senior counsel at the University of San Diego School of Law's Children's Advocacy Institute, said CPS should have removed the children from Phillip Hernandez's custody.

"The report warranted an immediate and thorough investigation, not more paperwork and waiting around, which is what apparently was done," he said.

Howard reviewed the 50-page CPS file at the request of The Bee.

According to a written statement provided by CPS spokeswoman Laura McCasland, the agency would not explain what it did to investigate the allegations in the Feb. 4 report.

CPS said it was not able to substantiate all of the allegations. For instance, the agency said it did not find automatic weapons in Phillip Hernandez's home.

On Feb. 15, 11 days before the boy's death, CPS completed a safety assessment of Hernandez and the two boys. The assessment concluded the boys faced no physical threats from their father, records show.

However, the assessment also found that the father's drug use seriously impaired his ability to care for his sons. The assessment says Hernandez should not have the children alone until he had shown compliance with drug treatment and until tests had shown that he had stopped using drugs.

A plan was required to keep the children in the home, the report stated.

In its written statement to The Bee, CPS said it could not release the contents of the plan without a court order.

CPS first became aware of the Hernandez family shortly after Matthew's birth in 2003. His mother tested positive for drugs, and he was born prematurely and weighed 3 pounds, 8 ounces.

In 2010, CPS found that Jessica Hernandez was still having drug problems and was neglecting the children. The report did not contain specifics about the alleged neglect.

Jessica and Phillip Hernandez had been fighting over custody of the children since he was discharged from parole in 2008. She has maintained in court records that she has cleaned up in recent years and wanted to resume custody of the two boys.

In November, a family court judge imposed a joint custody arrangement on the parents, with the boys spending the school year with their father and summers with their mother, who lives in Las Vegas.

In court records, Jessica Hernandez said she pleaded with a judge to give her full custody because of her ex-husband's problems. She said she was ignored and treated like she was the "bad guy."

Through a spokeswoman, Superior Court Judge Sharon Lueras, who was previously responsible for the case, declined to comment Thursday. Judicial ethics preclude her from commenting, the spokeswoman said.

Earlier this week, another family court judge awarded Jessica Hernandez custody of Matthew's brother.

A probation report obtained Thursday, previously sealed in Superior Court, offers insight into the beginning of Phillip Hernandez's violence against his former wife.

In July 2004, Hernandez was charged with corporal injury on a spouse and attempted kidnapping, both felonies. The charges stemmed from an incident in which Hernandez pinned his wife - they had recently separated - to a bed, tried to choke and suffocate her and threatened to rape her, according to the probation report written after Hernandez was convicted on the domestic violence charge.

At one point, he had his wife in a headlock, and she felt she was about to lose consciousness, the report states. He threatened to kill himself.
