(TIFFIN, Ohio) Six people are dead after a mobile home fire Sunday morning in the Northwest Ohio town of Tiffin.
Officials say five of those killed were young children between 2-years-old and 6-years-old.
The sixth victim was an adult man who was believed to be the father of some or all of the children. He was declared dead at the scene.
Tiffin Fire Chief William Ennis said most of the children were not burned and were transported to a local hospital, where they passed away, likely from heat and smoke inhalation.
Ennie said the mother had left to go to work and has since been notified. "We have grief counselors with her at the hospital to take care of her but I'm certain it's horrific," Ennie said.
Officials say they have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
