HACKETTSTOWN — James Sasso, 25, of Oxford, was arrested on drug charges in an abandoned apartment along the 100 block of Liberty Street at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday.
According to police, officers were called to the vacant apartment and discovered Sasso allegedly using drugs. Sasso allegedly told police that he went into the vacant apartment to get out of the rain after he lost the keys for the apartment he was staying at in the same building.
Sasso was charged with criminal trespass and possession of a hypodermic needle. Sasso also had a $1,000 Ringwood Borough court traffic warrant. Sasso was unable to post the bail and was turned over to Ringwood Police Department.
