Two people killed in Bastrop County wreck - Austin American-Statesman

Two drivers were killed in a head-on collision Friday morning on County Road 304 in BastropCounty, according to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Ronnie Lon Tumlinson, 38 of Rosanky, and Edna Norine Douglas, a 60-year-old teacher from Smithville, both died at the scene at 7:38 a.m., the report said. Tumlinson was driving a 2006 Chevrolet pickup north in the 2300 block of County Road 304 at 6:22 a.m. when he crossed the center line and struck a 2008 Toyota driven south by Douglas, the report said. The drivers were not wearing seat belts and the road was wet , the report said. Information was not available on whether there were other passengers in the vehicles.
