Man arrested in WA over Sydney drug theft - Ninemsn

NSW police say the 38-year-old was wanted by them for drug, firearm and stealing offences.

They say he was arrested in Perth earlier this week over an aggravated break and enter at a western Sydney pharmaceutical company in March 2011, when he allegedly stole large quantities of codeine, pseudoephedrine and lidocaine.

Nine months later, officers raided a storage unit at Girraween, also in the city's west, where they seized a semi-automatic pistol, a self-loading rifle and 93kg of the stolen drugs.

They were granted arrest warrants for the man for numerous offences but he continued to evade them.

About 10.20am (CST) on Tuesday, WA Police arrested the man in Perth.

He appeared in court on Wednesday, where NSW detectives were granted authority to extradite him to Sydney.

The man arrived on Friday and has been charged with a total of seven offences.

He's been refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Saturday.
