Several Arrested During Local Drug Crackdown - KIII TV3

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Federal agents are rounding up known drug dealers in the area.

Starting early Tuesday morning, officers with the Drug Enforcement Agency, the U.S. Marshals and the Corpus Christi Police Department conducted a sweep, executing warrants at several homes in Corpus Christi.

Melissa Hunt, a resident living near one of the homes, on Christie and Alexander streets, said she had no idea drugs were a problem in her neighborhood.

"I knew something was going down," Hunt said. "I never expected this, and it breaks my heart."

Dozens of people were arrested during the raids.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Justice will be releasing more information, including the names of those who were taken into custody and the charges they face.
