Two people killed in North West violence - Citizen

A man was killed near the Nkaneng informal settlement, in Marikana, at 10pm on Saturday night, Warrant Officer Sam Tselanyane said in a statement.

His uncle identified him as 31-year-old Nkosukhono Maphundu. He had several stab wounds to his chest and back. The motive for the killing was not known.

In Jouberton, outside Klerksdorp, a man was stabbed to death, allegedly by his ex-girlfriend. He and the 20-year-old woman had an argument at her house on Saturday at 8.30pm.

"Allegedly, the relationship between the two went sour and the deceased did not wanted to accept the break-up," Tselanyane said.

The woman ran into the house and the man followed her in. She took a knife and allegedly stabbed him in the chest twice.

He died on arrival at Tshepong Hospital. The woman would appear in the Klerksdorp Magistrate's Court on Monday.
