A 72-year-old Clearwater man has been arrested after allegedly showing pornography to an 11-year-old girl, Clearwater police said.
John Coomes was arrested this afternoon and charged with showing obscenity to a minor.
According to police, the parents of the victim contacted police after learning that the suspect had shown her obscene videos at his home.
The suspect had befriended the family of the victim and was trusted to have the child visit his home at 13 S. Duncan Ave. on occasion, police said.
During a recent visit, the child was shown obscene material, including pornographic videos, while in Coomes' bedroom, police said.
