An explosive device affixed under a bus went off in the Mazzeh 86 neighborhood of Damascus overnight on Wednesday, leaving three people dead and several others injured.
Earlier in the day, three bombs also ripped through the main entrance of the Syrian Interior Ministry in the Kafar Souseh district of the capital, killing at least seven people.
The interior minister and other high-ranking officials are reportedly safe.
Meanwhile, several other bomb explosions hit the city and its suburbs, killing at least two people and wounding others. Syria blamed foreign-backed militants for the attacks.
Syria has been the scene of unrest since March 2011. Many people, including large numbers of security forces, have been killed in the turmoil.
The Syrian government says a very large number of the militants operating in Syria are foreign nationals.
