Send obscene MMS, email, video, land in jail for 3 years - Oneindia

New Delhi, Oct 11: Putting an end to all speculations, amendment on the existing law of Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act in India has been approved by the UPA cabinet on Thursday, Oct 11.

The rules of the Act say that people may land in serious legal trouble if they send obscene porn MMS, emails, video maligning images of women.

After this approval, people, who will send such obscene MMS and videos will be charged Rs 5 lakh instead of Rs 2,000 and they will be sent to jail for three years.

The Act is to prohibit indecent representation of women through advertisements or in publications, writings, paintings, figures or in any other manner and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
