Police arrest 17 on drug charges across Merseyside - BBC News

Seventeen people have been arrested in raids across Merseyside and north Wales as part of an investigation into a multi-million pound drugs conspiracy.

Police executed 22 search warrants across Kirkdale, Kensington, Vauxhall, Sleeper Hill, Everton, Kirkby, Walton, Bellevale, Eastham and Gronant.

Fifteen men and two women, aged between 25 and 61, are being questioned.

They were held on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and on suspicion of money-laundering.

During the searches officers seized a large quantity of substances believed to be Class A drugs and mixing agents, as well as cash, two cars and drugs paraphernalia.

Det Supt Jason Hudson said police would take "rigorous action" against drug-related activity.
