Six people killed in road accident in Maharashtra - Times of India

THANE (MAHARASHTRA): Six people were killed in a road accident near Bhiwandi in the district in the early hours of Wednesday.

The accident took place around 2am, when the driver of the jeep in which they were travelling lost control and hit a vehicle on the other side of the road after running over a road divider, police said.

The incident took place at Nagla village in Bhiwandi town, they added.

According to police, all the victims, who are from a local village, were returning after attending a Navratri festival. One more youth sustained serious injuries in the accident and had been hospitalised.

The victims have been identified as Kashinath Patil (17), Devendra Tangdi, (19), Ashish Tangdi (19), Yadnesh Deolikar (19), Kundan Raikar (25) and Vaibhav B Raikar (27) police said.
