Kansas City police are investigating three homicides, just two hours apart. The latest homicides brings the total number of people killed in Kansas City to 11 this year.
Police say they got a phone call around eight last night to check on the welfare of someone seen slumped behind the wheel of a car near Budd Park. When they arrived in the 100 block of Denver, they found two men dead inside a car.
We're told the victims are in their 20's. Investigators said a witness reported seeing a man running from the scene, but police did not release a detailed description.
Then about two hours later, police were called to 36th and highland near 71 highway on reports of an assault. When they arrived, they found a man with life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died.
