Police said the accident occurred at Five Corners. Responding officers said they found the man in an altered state, but uninjured. He was transported to South Shore Hospital.
A search of the mans vehicle uncovered a gym bag in the truck containing several mason jars of marijuana, several large plastic bags filled with marijuana, and additional marijuana in a waterproof box, police said. The total weight was less than 19 ounces.
A backpack found in the car also contained almost $8,500 in cash, police said.
Officers also reported discovering a plastic bag on the passenger seat containing 39 grams of a white powder that later tested positive for katamine hydrochloride, also known as Special K on the street.
The money and the drugs were seized, police said, and the man placed under arrest.
His name has not been released due to medical privacy laws; however, he was charged with operating under the influence of drugs, trafficking in a Class A substance (ketamine), possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and a drug-free school zone violation (nearby day care center).
