Not long ago, the entire NDC hypocrites and their bigoted serial callers were bombarding our ears that some monies from the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) debt recovery had been spent on NPP information management team. The NDC, as usual, painted a picture of such an occurrence being the very first in our nation's history.
But the fact is, anytime you hear the NDC vehemently accusing others for committing a particular crime, then you must rest assured that either the NDC had already been neck-deep in the very same act or it has put in place a well-planned mechanism to perpetrate the act on a massive scale!!!
Therefore, when they started making that noise about the NPP engaging expertise of some journalists to sell its good works, I was never bothered. Some of these NDC-jaundiced media practitioners actually went to the extent of mentioning the name of Kweku Baako as being a beneficiary and accused him of buying a multi-billion dollar house from the proceeds he accrued from the said media programme by the NPP government.
And as I have already said, it did not take long for the character of NDC, as regards unsurpassed levels of crude hypocrisy, to be unearthed. And the whole thing erupted like a volcano, with the uncovering by the DAILY GUIDE newspaper, what I would like to describe as the 'Stan-Dogbe-Gate' scandal.
Now, while the NPP probably paid the people who worked for them through the appropriate channels, the NDC, under stewardship of late 'saint' Atta Mills and now John Mahama, chose to dish out raw cash in a 'Ghana-must-go' carrier bag to Stanislav Dogbe to go and distribute. And as the popular Ghanaian adage goes; 'nea oko nsuo no na obo ahina'; which loosely translates as; the person who volunteers to fetch the water is usually the one that breaks the pot.
And true to the meaning of this adage, Stan Dogbe, as he was on his way to distribute the cash to the 'deserving' journalists, accidentally hit his big-toe against a stubborn stone, tripped, fell heavily on the ground and the 'Ghana-must-go' carrier bag containing the 'opipipiiipiiii' for those ghost journalists fell from his grips, hit the ground, broke open and coincidentally, some mystical whirl-wind from nowhere came along and simply blew the whole cash into a very 'huuuuuuggggge' black-hole!!!
And here I can see some of my readers actually laughing but the truth is; why won't such a fairy-tale episode take place when monies of this quantum is placed in the hands of a full-blooded Ghanaian, with his umbilical cord firmly rooted somewhere in the Volta Region, but has decided to forego all these nice Voltarian names and rather go for (STANISLAV) which is a Bosnia-Herzegovina name?
Indeed, the fact that the nation Bosnia-Herzegovina even no longer exists, following its disintegration in the mid 90s as a result of the Balkan War, is a clear testament to how dodgy and elusive this Stanislav Dogbe can be when money of such quantum is gleefully thrown unto his laps!!!
Now, when there is the need to make some funds available to oil the information propagation machinery of the government, any of the deputies of the information minister could have signed for it in the absence of the substantive minister. And even if Stan Dogbe was the only person 'qualified' to undertake that assignment on behalf of the ministry, why was the money rather not paid into an account so that cheques could be issued to the targeted people and organizations in order to ensure transparency?
And by the way, why would a president who claim to be highly allergic to profligacy and Christmas hampers stand aloof for his appointees to dip their long arms into the consolidated fund and scoop ¢1.6 billion, carry it away in a 'Ghana-must-go' and simply blow it on hampers for ghost and other imaginary aliens from space?
And why Stan Dogbe, who according to my checks was not even an employee at the Information Ministry at the time, was handed 'huuuuugge' cash in a 'Ghana-must-go' carrier bag, is an occurrence the good old professor will certainly not bother his often wobbly head about. Any wonder a young man who thrown out of job can today afford to send his girlfriend to Atlanta (USA) to deliver a baby? Amazingly, with all the mystery surrounding this explosive ¢1.7billion 'Dogbe-Gate' scandal, the gentleman at the centre of the storm still remains at post at the presidency and was defending the STX deal with the last drop of his blood, on 20th September, 2010 edition of Joy FM's 'top-story' after the signing ceremony fiasco.
In the midst of all this rot and shameful display of immorality by his appointees, the Mills-Mahama-Amissah-Arthur-led government continues to burry its head in the sand and sermonizes on good behavior.
Clearly, Atta Mills failed to deal with issues of crass corruption amongst his appointees and until John Mahama charts a new course by cutting out all these pointless sermonization and deals with the growing menace of corruption, insolence and incompetence currently drowning his administration, the good people of this nation will be right in concluding that he is either not in control of day-to-day running of the nation or he is in full support of, in the words of Rawlings, "all the nonsense that is going on around him".
Indeed, the late Atta Mills' reckless dissipation of tax-payer's money by way of coming all the way back from China just to be showered with praises by the Government Statistician, only to travel back to Japan the following day, was rather hailed to the high heavens by the greedy bastards around him. And why should anyone be surprised by shameful act of these praise singers when they are 'chopping yafuyafu'?
Now, what I will tell these greedy people who took Atta Mills hostage and are now swarming around John Mahama whose own credibility is nothing to write home about, is simply this; they should go and get copies of 28th September, 2010 edition of the Daily Graphic newspaper, turn to page17, look at those pictures of homeless young girls and tell me whether the cost of Atta Mills coming home for that census gimmick could not have cover the rent of 2000 single-rooms over a period of five years for those homeless youth.
But the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA's) bid to undertake this housing project, with the possibility of saving the Ghanaian tax-payer over half of the current total contract sum, which can then be ploughed back into putting up hundreds of thousands of decent compound-house-like accommodation to cater for the needs of such unfortunate class of people within our society, has been impertinently rebuffed by incompetent, arrogant, power-drunk and sister-in-law-poacher minister with support from one of his motor-mouth deputies.
A dismissed Takoradi MCE who had a lot of revelation to make about the extent of corruption and evil machinations going on within the corridors of power, had his lips quickly sealed with super glue by way of a counter threat from the presidency to expose his own personal corrupt activities. The matter has since died a natural death.
The late Atta Mills went to Tema port and poked his fingers in the eyes of customs officers and accused them of being corrupt just on the account that they are able to put up houses within a period of just three years of being employed, when right under his very nose, most of his appointees who until 2009 had never had jobs in their lives, are now owners of many petrol filling stations, fleet of fuel taker trucks,V-8 Land Cruisers and multi-million mansions both in Ghana and abroad.
Effectively, the Mills-Mahama-Amissah-Arthur government has no reason to pontificate on moral values to the people of Ghana since it is evidently clear, to even the uninitiated, that the spate of unbridled profligacy, plain-faced corruption and totally unrestrained immoral escapes by his very own lieutenants are completely out of control.
