A convicted felon with has a history of violence has been arrested in Mexico on charges that he murdered his social worker girlfriend and stuffed her body in a suitcase.
Christine Stewart, 47, who worked as a counselor for drug addicts at a rehabilitation center, was found dead on August 8 in a hotel room in Poway, California, outside San Diego.
Her 5-foot-3 body had been stuffed into a suitcase that was three feet long and 18 inches wide.

Her boyfriend, Joseph Dorsey, 28, was found in Rosarito, Mexico, on Tuesday, two and a half months after the killing. He fled 20 miles south of the border to the coastal resort town.
Police believe he killed Stewart, a mother of three who also had five step-children, at his apartment in Lake Elsinore and then drove her body 60 miles south to Poway, where he check into a Best Western Country Inn hotel.
He didn't check out of the room, and when hotel employees searched the belongings he left behind, they discovered Stewart's body.
Dorsey, who was on parole for attempted burglary, has several prior convictions, including inflicting injury on a spouse, assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer and battery of a police officer.

Stewart's mother told KTLA-TV that her daughter typically go for men like Dorsey. She kept the relationship secret from her family.
She said she didn't find out Stewart was dating a convicted felon until police announced Dorsey as a suspect.
Shortly after Stewart's body was discovered, local police learned that Dorsey had fled to Mexico.
With the help of the FBI, a federal arrest warrant was issued and Mexican authorities began looking for the fugitive.
Dorsey, an American citizen, was arrested in Mexico on Tuesday and handed over to US authorities late Tuesday night. He was booked into the jail in Riverside, California, about 2am on Wednesday.
Convictions for inflicting injury on a spouse, assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer and battery of a police officer. Why was this man not in prison for the long count?
