Irvine police arrest woman after she texted officer about buying drugs - Lexington Herald Leader

Irvine police arrested a woman who they say accidentally sent a text message to a police officer in an attempt to buy drugs.

Kassie N. Hardy sent a text to the officer on Friday to try to buy two 10 mg oxycodone pills, according to the Irvine Police Department's Facebook page.

The police then set up a time and place to meet Hardy, and they arrested her Friday in the Hardee's parking lot in Irvine.

Police said that Hardy was charged with first-degree attempting to traffic in a controlled substance, first offense, and that she is free on bond.

Police said three children were in the vehicle with Hardy when she arrived at the meeting place.
