The Jambi Police on Saturday arrested a Tebo Police control unit officer — identified by the initials HK — on drugs charges.

The police officer, who holds the rank of chief brigadier, was arrested during a raid in front of state vocational school SMK Negeri 3 Jambi.

Jambi Police spokesperson Adj. Sr. Comr. Almansyah said HK had been under surveillance for quite some time and had been absent from the police for two months.

"We managed to take him into custody last night," said Almansyah on Sunday.

He said HR was tested for drugs.

"The results of a urine test showed the presence of drugs," said Almansyah.

The Jambi Police internal affairs division's (Propam) investigation, to determine the disciplinary sanctions, is ongoing. (ebf)
