Knoxville doctor arrested on several drug charges - WATE-TV

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Police have arrested a doctor for drugs in his West Knoxville home.

According to the Knoxville Police Department, officers were originally called to the home of Dr. Michael LaPaglia's Fox Cove Road home around 11:45 p.m. on Monday because of a domestic dispute.

But when police arrived, they noticed a strong smell of marijuana.

Officers say they then found mason jars with marijuana residue.

Police returned to the house Tuesday morning to do an extensive search, finding signs of a previous marijuana growing operation.

In addition, police say they found vials of hospital drugs and assorted pills.

LaPaglia now faces several drug charges and is being in the Knox County jail on $31,000 bond.
