Two people killed in Southeast Kansas accident - Joplin Globe

PARSONS, Kan. —  Two people from Oklahoma have died in a crash at an intersection near Parsons in southeast Kansas.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened Thursday night when a car that was crossing U.S. 400 failed to yield to a pickup truck that was hauling a camper. The patrol says the truck then crashed into the driver's side of the car.

The patrol identified the victims as the car's 57-year-old driver, Janice R. Hensley, and a 40-year-old passenger, Jackie J. Hensley. A third 15-year-old passenger was flown to a Tulsa, Okla., hospital. All three were from Vinita, Okla.

The patrol says the truck's driver and passenger weren't injured. Both are from Carthage, Mo.
