3 arrested after George County traffic stop with guns, drugs and beer - Mississippi Press (blog)

LUCEDALE, Mississippi -- A traffic stop Wednesday night resulted in the arrests of three individuals, according to a news release from the George County Sheriff's Office.

According to Sgt. Jason Pharez, deputies spotted a white Isuzu Rodeo headed south on Highway 198 was weaving and a traffic stop was initiated. There were several individuals in the vehicle, including some known felons.

According to FBI Safe Streets Task Force member Sgt. Trey Collins, arrested were Rocky Edward Lee, 29, of Steve Huff Road, Joey Preston Mills, 28, of Brushy Creek Road, and Tamatha Patricia Jelsma, 28, of Highway 198 East. All three are from George County.

The suspects were also in possession of firearms. Lee is a convicted felony is not allowed to have possession of firearms. Also found in the vehicle were spice, paraphernalia, and beer. Seized in the arrest were two handguns, clips, and a rifle. All were loaded.

Lee was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of spice.

Mills was arrested on outstanding warrant for failure to pay. He goes to trial in circuit court next month on other charges.

Jelsman was arrested for possession of alcohol in a dry county.
