SANTA CRUZ -- A 27-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after a neighbor spotted him prowling near the 1100 block of West Cliff Drive.
Timothy Hugh Dollar, a self-described transient, was in a side yard of a home on West Cliff, said Santa Cruz Deputy Police Chief Steve Clark.
The neighbor called 911 and described Dollar. Police arrived and found Dollar trying to break into a home. He was under the influence of drugs, police said.
Dollar was arrested on suspicion of unlawful entry and being under the influence of drugs, police said.
He was held in Santa Cruz County Jail in lieu of $500 bail and posted bail by Thursday, according to arrest records.
