Three arrested in police drugs operation in Whitehaven - News & Star

Three men were arrested during a police drugs operation in Whitehaven on Saturday night.

Officers with specially trained dogs entered licensed premises in the town centre between 9pm and 11pm and carried out 12 stop searches.

A 43-year-old man, from Whitehaven, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug. He was bailed until November 29.

A man, aged 25, from Whitehaven, was charged after failing to comply with a warrant and is due in court today.

And a 28-year-old man from Arlecdon was charged with being drunk and disorderly and will appear at West Allerdale Magistrates Court on October 30.

PC Rachel Gale said it had been very successful operation that had sent a clear message drugs would not be tolerated.
