WATERLOO | Sheriff's deputies arrested a Waterloo man after he alleged fled during a traffic stop, and officers found drugs.
A patrol deputy attempted to pull over a gold Oldsmobile after noticing it run a stop sign at Harwood and Ansborough avenues at about 3:24 a.m. The vehicle sped off when the deputy turned on his flashing lights, and the chase continued the driver parked no Thorndale Avenue and started running.
The deputy caught up with the driver about four blocks away in the lot of a nearby automobile dealership. He found a package of methamphetamine and pills in the driver's pocket and found a pipe in his cigarette pack, court records state.
Mark Allen Brunko, 35, of 500 Maple St., was arrested for eluding and possession of meth, prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $15,500.
