Eleven people are thought to have been killed in an explosion in a fireworks factory.
Seventeen others are believed to have been injured in the blast in southern China.
Two people have been arrested following the incident in Guangxi province on Friday afternoon.
State media have said police have detained the manager and the legal representative of the factory.
It quoted a local safety official saying that the explosion was caused during "machine maintenance."
There have been other fatalities during blasts involving fireworks in China in recent years.
In February eleven people died when a lorry carrying fireworks exploded - causing a motorway bridge to collapse, Sky News reports.
Last year, explosions involving fireworks at two separate factories reportedly killed 14 people.
