Lia Green death: Father charged with murder - BBC News

A 22-year-old man has appeared before Preston Magistrates' Court accused of murdering his three-year-old daughter.

Richard Green, of Harling Road, Preston, was remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on Friday.

Lia Green, of Norris Street, Preston, died on 30 August of injuries caused by "significant violence", a post-mortem examination found.

Mr Green is also charged with causing or allowing the death of a child.

A 20-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on police bail until 16 January.

And a 22-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice has been bailed until 13 November.
