CAMPBELL
Two men were arrested on drug charges Tuesday during a traffic stop on McCartney Road.
At about 4:45 p.m., police noticed, then pulled over, a car with several objects hanging from its rear view mirror, obstructing the driver's view. Shortly afterward, police identified the passenger as 24-year-old Lyndon M. Nelson, of Campbell, who had several active arrest warrants through the Campbell Police Department.
Police arrested Nelson, then found a small digital scale in Nelson's pocket. When they searched the car, they discovered a spoon with suspected heroin residue and burn marks, a broken hypodermic needle, and 0.5 grams of heroin.
Officers placed the driver, 27-year-old Anthony J. Salem, of Columbiana, under arrest as well, and confiscated $10 in cash from him. They also found $706 in cash in Nelson's wallet.
Salem was charged with possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia and drug abuse instruments, as well having an obstructed view to the front, while Nelson was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Both face an arraignment Friday in Campbell Municipal Court.
