Two people killed in head-on crash - KXXV News Channel 25

MCLENNAN COUNTY -

Two people were killed in a head-on collision in McLennan County.

The crash happened during the heavy rainstorm Saturday just before 3:00 on US 84 just west of FM 939. A Ford Taurus was going eastbound and lost control for an unknown reason and went into oncoming traffic hitting a Hyundai head on.

The driver of the Hyundai, 61 year old Virginia Olivarez, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was rushed to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The driver and passenger of the Taurus, ages 18 and 19, were also taken to the hospital for minor injuries. Their names have not been released at this time. Department of Public Safety officials say charges for the two teens could come after the investigation is complete.
