Three arrested in drug raid in Quebec City - Montreal Gazette

MONTREAL — Police arrested three people near Quebec City Friday, after seizing a pound of marijuana and a large quantity of amphetamine pills from an apartment rented by one of the suspects.

A 19-year-old man was nabbed by police in the apartment on Notre Dame St. in Donaconna, about 40 kilometres west of the provincial capital. Police found the marijuana alongside 90 speed pills and several hundred dollars in cash.

Two other suspects, a 26-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, were arrested after being pulled over on a nearby road. Police say the two male suspects are roommates.

The arrests came after police were tipped off about a well-known drug ring in the Donaconna area. A spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec said people would visit the suspect's apartment to buy drugs.

The trio will appear in a Quebec City court later this week to face drug trafficking charges.
