Braintree man arrested for alleged drug sales
A Braintree man was arrested on Friday after allegedly dealing drugs out of his Braintree home.
According to police, detectives assigned to the drug unit identified the suspect through their investigation of drug sales in the area, and obtained a search warrant for his home.
While watching the house, police observed an individual go to the house and leave after only a few minutes.
Police said they stopped the individual and found a bag of marijuana in his possession. While the individual was initially untruthful about having purchased any drugs, after police found the marijuana, he made a statement as to where he purchased it.
His name has not been released as he has not been charged.
According to police, as Braintree and Quincy detectives approached the house to serve the search warrant, a second individual, who had arrived at the home several minutes earlier, exited and was also detained by detectives.
The second individual, whose name has also not been released as he has not been charged, also made statements about the suspects involvement in drug sales.
Detectives soon forced entry into the suspects home and detained the suspect at the back door.
A search of the home uncovered marijuana, a digital scale, and other evidence of drug packaging, police said.
William P. Courage, 20, from Braintree was arrested and charged with distribution of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act.
The constant traffic of individuals coming and going from homes where drugs are sold is a quality of life issue that affects neighbors and other nearby residents, said Braintree Police Chief Russell Jenkins in a release. We encourage residents who observe similar behavior in their neighborhood to contact our drug unit.
Quincy man robbed outside Legal Seafood
A 22-year-old Quincy man was robbed outside of Legal Seafood at the South Shore Plaza late Sunday evening, police reported on Tuesday.
According to police, the victim was approaching a cab that he had called for a ride home when three black males allegedly approached him and the cab.
The victim said he had money out to pay the cab fare. One of the suspects approached the cab driver to talk to him while the other two approached the victim.
One of the suspects grabbed the money from the victims hand, and the suspects ran away.
Responding officers could not locate the suspects, and the incident is under investigation.
