LENOIR N.C. – A Granite Falls man with a history of drug offenses was arrested Thursday on multiple felony drug charges.

Clyde Russell Icard, 30, was arrested and charged with two counts of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver oxycodone, two counts of felony selling oxycodone, two counts of felony delivering oxycodone and one count of felony maintaining a dwelling to keep or store a controlled substance.

Icard's arrest on new charges follows his arrest last August for multiple drug offenses. He made bond after his August arrest and quickly resumed selling drugs, according to the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office.

During a four-month investigation, members of the Inter-county Counterdrug Enforcement (ICE) Unit infiltrated Icard's organization and conducted several undercover purchases of illegal drugs from him, according to the release. In September, agents made three separate undercover buys of methamphetamine, cocaine and prescription pills from Icard.

Icard then moved the location of his organization, but agents tracked him down by November and were able to make two separate undercover buys of illegal prescription pills from him.

A final purchase of illegal drugs in December led to the issuance of a search warrant, which was served at Icard's home at 2350 Springlake MHP, Lot No. 72.

Icard's 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, 7.2 grams of cocaine, 2.5 grams of methamphetamine, oxycodone and Percocet pills were seized during the search of his residence. The street value of the drugs is estimated at $1,175.

In the a news release, Caldwell County Sheriff Alan Jones said, "You would think he would have learned his lesson the first time he got arrested, instead he's going to spend his Christmas in jail."

Additional charges against Icard are pending. He was placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond and was given a District Court date in Lenoir of Dec. 21.
