An Enterprise man faces the possibility of the death penalty or life in prison without parole if convicted of fatally shooting three people at a Wicksburg adult nightclub back in August.

Houston County Sheriff's investigators charged 23-year-old Ryan Clark Petersen with multiple felony counts of capital murder and an attempted murder charge.

A grand jury indicted Petersen on three capital murder burglary charges and a fourth capital murder charge for killing two or more people.

Sheriff's investigators arrested Petersen several hours after a shooting at Teasers nightclub in Wicksburg, which happened on Aug. 9.

Petersen's attorney, Chris Capps, entered pleas of not guilty and not guilty by mental disease or defect on his client's behalf at a court hearing in October. Circuit Court Judge Brad Mendheim ordered a mental evaluation for Petersen.

Court records show no trial date has been set.

Petersen remains held at the Houston County Jail without bail.

Authorities say Peterson, after becoming disgruntled at the club, shot four people, fatally wounding three. The fatally wounded victims were Tiffany Paige Grissett, 31, of Dale County; Thomas Robins, Jr., 59, of Dothan; and the nightclub owner's son, Cameron Eubanks, 20, of Dothan.

The fourth victim, Scotty Russell, 33, of Opp, was wounded.

Attorney Ben Freeman has also been appointed to represent Petersen on the capital murder charges.
