TRAPPE The Talbot - County Narcotics Task Force arrested two Trappe residents Thursday after a lengthy investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs at the Lovers Lane Townhomes.
Police identified the residents as Anthony Burwell, 45, and Tasheka S. Gibson, 34, both of 4331 Lovers Lane, Apt. 7.
The investigation was started after information from Trappe police and surveillance conducted by the task force.
A search and seizure warrant was obtained by police and resulted in the seizure of $2,410, more than a half pound of marijuana, 21 grams of cocaine, oxycodone pills and digital scales.
Burwell and Gibson were each charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of oxycodone, possession of a controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance for distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school and possession with intent to distribute marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school.
Burwell is being held at the Talbot County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond as of Friday. Gibson was held at the detention center on $100,000 bond, and later released.
The Talbot narcotics task force was assisted with the arrests and the search and seizure by Caroline County Narcotics Task Force, Trappe Police Department, Easton Police Department, Oxford Police Department and the Maryland State Police-Easton Barrack.
