12 arrested in Caldwell County drug round-up - Charlotte Observer

Twelve drug offenders are behind bars following a week-long round-up by the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office, officials say.

The suspects were wanted for a combined total of 45 offenses ranging from possession, selling or distributing and maintaining illegal narcotics.

"Within the past year, Ice Unit Agents conducted numerous investigations including undercover purchase of illegal controlled substances and searches of suspects' premises. Those investigations led to these arrests," says Caldwell County Sheriff Alan C. Jones.

Through the course of the operation, officials say more than three pounds of marijuana, 200 illegal prescription pills, 1.5 grams of meth, a firearm, $800 in cash and assorted drug packaging and paraphernalia were seized. The street value of the drugs seized is more than $17,000, authorities say.

Paul Douglas Whitt, 32, and Chasity Dawn Blevins, 22, are both still wanted on drug offenses. A cash reward is available to anyone with information that leads to an arrest.
