A Lincoln man faces a host of charges, including three felonies, after police say he tried to run over people with his van and then had drugs and a gun when he was arrested Sunday morning.
Zachry Seward, 21, was booked into the Washington County Detention Center on Sunday morning and released on $7,500 bond Sunday afternoon, according to the Sheriff's Department website. Seward has a Feb. 27 court date.
A preliminary police report said officers went to a residence on South Street in Lincoln where nine witnesses said a man, identified at Seward, attempted to run over some people in the backyard of the residence. The report said the witnesses said Seward pointed a handgun at several people and then rammed a car with his blue Chevy van.
The report said officers found a parked car with blue paint and damage on it as well as part of another vehicle. One man said he was struck on his arm by the passenger-side mirror of the van when it hit the parked car.
Lincoln police officers and Washington County Sheriff deputies went to a residence on Highway 59 South in Lincoln where they saw a blue van in the driveway missing parts similar to the items found at the previous scene, the report said.
A deputy said in his report he went to the rear of the house when a man, who matched Seward's description, ran from the house while attempting to put on a jacket and tripped while trying to jump over a metal sink. Reports from both police and sheriff deputies said Seward was found with a loaded .22 handgun, marijuana and five different types of pills in a pill bottle, including methadone.
Seward told officers he was at the South Street scene with a gun but denied pointing it at anyone, the report said. Seward faces felony charges of aggravated assault, criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance in addition to felony charges of possession of controlled substances, fleeing and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, police said.
