A Tazewell County man accused of dealing drugs out of the back of his nail shop was arrested Tuesday morning following a multi-agency sting, police said.

Sep Zu Ha, 29, of Harmon Street, North Tazewell, was served with 22 drug-related indictments. He's charged with seven counts of possession or distribution of a controlled substance on school or private property, five counts of possession with intent to distribute between 0.5 and 5 pounds of marijuana, four counts of distribution of Schedule I or II controlled substances, three counts of misdemeanor distribution of marijuana less than half a pound, and one count each of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, distribution of a Schedule III controlled substance and conspiracy to distribute a Schedule I or II controlled substance, according to a written statement from the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office.

An investigation has been under way for about eight months, said Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Harold Heatley. He said officers made undercover drug buys from Ha, and on Tuesday searched his home and his business, Star Nails. They confiscated drugs, luxury cars and other expensive items from those locations, Heatley said.

Ha is believed to have sold narcotics at area parks and from his business, Heatley said.

"There have been a number of complaints regarding Mr. Ha and his dealings, both in his shop, in and around our schools and in our parks," said Tazewell Police Chief DeWitt Cooper, in the statement. "We want our citizens to feel comfortable walking in the park and taking their children to school without worrying there is a drug dealer in the parking lot waiting to sell their child drugs."

Heatley said more charges are anticipated following the completion of searches at Ha's home and business.

Ha will next be seen in Tazewell County Circuit Court on Jan. 28. He remains at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Duffield.
