17-year-old shot in head among 2 killed in Chicago - Sacramento Bee

A 17-year-old boy who was shot in the head was among two people killed in Chicago at the start of the weekend. Shootings across the city also wounded six people, who were expected to survive.

The teen, Derrick Davis, was killed one block from his home in the South Side Pill Hill neighborhood. The Cook County Medical Examiner's office says he was shot Friday evening. Police say no one else was wounded in that shooting and no one was in custody.

The other fatal shooting took place on the West Side. Police say the assailant approached 33-year-old Mushun Franklin on foot in the East Garfield Park neighborhood and shot him in the torso and neck.

The Chicago Tribune ( http://trib.in/OuDXiG) reported Saturday that six other people were wounded in shootings.
