Paso Robles police arrest two on drug charges - The San Luis Obispo Tribune

Paso Robles police arrested two men early Saturday morning after they allegedly discovered narcotics in the men's car.

An officer stopped the car at 4:40 a.m. on Creston Road near Golden Hill Road for an equipment violation. The driver of the car, San Luis Obispo County resident Leonard Filipe Trujillo, 38, was driving under the influence of a controlled substance, police said.

During a search of the vehicle, a canine unit indicated that drugs were present in the driver and passenger seat areas, police said. A search allegedly uncovered 11 grams of methamphetamine and five grams of heroin, along with narcotics packaging material and other items used in the sale of drugs.

Trujillo was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession and transportation of controlled substances for sale, possession for sale of narcotics and sales of controlled substances.

His passenger, Jason Todd Hopkins, 34, of Paso Robles, was arrested on suspicion of possession of narcotics.
