Edmonton police have arrested and charged three people, after officers found tens of thousands of dollars' worth of drugs and drug paraphernalia last week.

Police said on Friday, officers from west division stopped a vehicle in the area of 178 Street and 100 Avenue – inside, an ounce of methamphetamine valued at $2800 was found, along with some cash.

Later, police searched a hotel suite in the west end, where they found and seized 629 grams (1.5 lbs) of crystal meth, valued at $50,000, 220 ml of GHB, valued at $1,110, a digital scale, packing and measuring cups, and cash.

As a result of the traffic stop, 43-year-old Kevin Goddard is facing one charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine and possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000.

After the hotel room was searched, Michael Meyn, 32, and Melissa Fast, 23 were also arrested and charged.

Both are facing a total of five charges, including possession of meth and GHB for the purpose of trafficking, and weapons-related charges.
