Man Arrested With Mom, Charged With Drug Possession - Patch.com

A 41-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of carrying pills with him while being arrested with his mother and another woman at Walgreens in Greendale.

Ricky Dale Meyers Jr. was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Saturday with one count of possession of narcotic drugs. If convicted, he faces up to 1 ½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

At 1:53 p.m. Dec. 14, Greendale police officers were called to Walgreens for a retail theft complaint involving Meyers, his mother and another woman. Police found a pill bottle in his pocket with toilet paper, 14 Clonazepam pills and four morphine pills inside. The bottle had the label ripped off. Meyers said the pills belonged to his mother and he carries them sometimes.

His mother also claimed they were her pills, but she had no idea how the label was ripped off. She said she had a prescription for the pills, however, she was not able to show officers prescriptions for either morphine or Clonazepam.

Meyers will make his initial appearance in court Thursday.
