LIMA, Oct. 27 Another two people were killed and more than 20 others injured in Saturday's clash between police and food sellers in Lima, Peru's capital.
On Saturday, Peruvian police at a downtown food market in Lima clashed for the second time with demonstrators who opposed government's plan to relocate it.
A similar unrest on Thursday has already led to the deaths of two civilians and injuries of more than 60 policemen.
The unrest started when the police installed concrete blocks at the entrance to La Parada, Lima's largest wholesale market, to impede entry by cargo trucks.
City authorities, which have long wanted to relocate the wholesale market, ordered food sellers to move to a new market in eastern Lima by mid-September, but they refused.
The La Parada wholesale market, which opened 50 years ago and sprawls over three hectares in Lima's downtown, is overwhelmed by the demand of the city which has a population of more than 8 million today.
