Five arrested in drugs raid - This is Leicestershire

Police arrested five people when they carried out a drugs raid on a Leicester housing estate.

Officers detained the five people, aged 15 to 28, in a house in Woodgreen Walk, Northfields on Friday night.

They also recovered a quantity of what they believe to be class A and B drugs. The substances have been sent for analysis.

Officers said the warrant was executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act and was in response to local residents' complaints about alleged drug activity in and around the house.

The landlord of the property has now formally removed the tenants and changed the locks.

Sgt Deb Thompson, of Keyham Lane police station, said: "We are working with the community to ensure that drug use and anti-social behaviour are not tolerated.

"We have worked closely with the landlord to ensure that these people do not return to the address or cause further problems for the local residents."
