Two arrested after drugs found in residence - Huntington Herald Dispatch

The following information was provided by the Huntington Police Department:

POSSESSION WITH INTENT: Two men were arrested Thursday evening after drugs were found inside a residence in the 500 block of 21st Street. Police were initially dispatched just after 7 p.m. about a possible burglary in progress when a woman was seen climbing through a window.

However, she had climbed in because the renter, Ronnie D. Chapman, 32, had lost his key. Upon further investigation, police found seven bundles of heroin, syringes, plastic bags and digital scales inside two bedrooms, along with nearly $6,100 in cash.

Another man, Marcus A. Steward, 24, was found inside. Steward was charged with a felony count of possession with intent. He also had an active warrant out of Illinois. Chapman was charged with an outstanding felony warrant for receiving/transferring stolen property.

BURGLARY: A complainant reported that someone broke into the residence in the 400 block of Oney Avenue between 6:50 and 10 p.m. Sunday. Jewelry valued at more than $3,000 was reported stolen.

BURGLARY: A complainant reported that someone gained entry to the residence in the 2600 block of Washington Boulevard between 6:45 and 8:15 p.m. Sunday and stole a wallet that contained $590.

BURGLARY: A complainant reported that two chainsaws and a pressure washer were stolen from a garage behind the residence in the 500 block of 19th Street  between 6 p.m. Thursday and 1 p.m. Friday by forcing open a side window. The loss is valued at $800.

BREAKING AND ENTERING: A complainant reported that someone forced entry into the a storage shed across from his apartment in the 2300 block of Marcum Terrace between Sept. 30 and Friday and stole about $2,400 worth of Christmas decorations, ornaments and lights.

BURGLARY: A complainant from Professional Towing reported that someone forced entry into the business  in the 500 block of 3rd Avenue and stole an air drill and tire socket set.
