The names of two people killed in separate vehicle accidents yesterday have been released by police.
Christchurch teenager Faith Maree Wood, 18, was killed when the van she was in crashed down a bank in Arthur's Pass and landed on a railway track.
Five other people were taken to hospital following the crash, and all are reported to be in stable conditions.
Tracy Ann Shipston, 39, was killed when the car she was driving collided with a tour bus outside of Christchurch.
Initial inquiries indicate the car crossed the centre line into the path of the oncoming bus.
The driver of the bus was un-injured and no one else was on board at the time of the crash.
Investigations into both crashes are continuing.
