Baku-APA. At least three people were killed and eight others wounded in a blast outside Hidaya mosque in Nairobi's Eastleigh area, the regional police commander confirmed to Xinhua on Friday night, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The police chief, Moses Ombati, told Xinhua by phone that the latest incident which took place on Friday evening in the Eastleigh area near the junction of Muratina and Jam streets already killed three people and wounded at least eight others. The Kamukunji MP, Yusuf Hassan, was among the wounded and admitted in hospital.

Moses Ombati said they have not established the cause of the blast yet.

This is the second such incident happened in Eastleigh in two days. One person was killed and at least four others injured in an explosion in Eastleigh's Joska area near the military air-base on Wednesday.

Eastleigh residential estate is mainly inhabited by Kenyans of Somali origin.

The two incidents came after 10 people were killed and 34 others injured in a mini-bus bombing in the same neighborhood on Nov. 18, which was followed by riots between Kenyans and Kenyan Somalis.

Already, the police are interrogating three key suspects who are all Kenyans who are providing further information on the key planners.

The East African nation has experienced a string of attacks on churches and public places in the recent past, blaming them on the insurgents from Somalia who have vowed to attack Kenya because Kenyan military forces entered Somalia last year to fight against the group.

The threats are hovering over Kenya, with many countries warning their citizens to be cautious as they go about their businesses in Nairobi.
