Patrick J. O'Neill, 28, of 30 Madison St. has been charged with distribution of Percocet. The Weymouth Police Narcotics Unit arrested O'Neill on Thursday.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for O'Neill and his residence based on a several week long investigation, according to Capt. Richard Fuller Jr.
Neighbors complained of what they believed to be drug dealing by O'Neill in the area, Capt. Fuller said in a press release.
At approximately 2:15 PM, detectives located O'Neill a short time after he left his residence. Detectives located dozens of Oxycodone pills in O'Neill's possession along with approximately $500 in cash. Upon searching the residence detectives located several more pain pills as well as other evidence of his drug dealing operation.
O'Neill was arrested and charged with distribution of a class B substance (Percocet) subsequent offense, possession with intent to distribute class B Percocet, conspiracy to violate the drug laws, and drug violation near a school. He was held overnight on $25,000 cash bail.
O'Neill has several open drug cases out of Quincy District Court stemming from his arrest in August of 2012. He was arrested at that time for distribution of class b drugs stemming from a search warrant executed by detectives at his residence. He was convicted for possession with intent to distribute class b drugs stemming from a February 2008 arrest. He received probation. He was also arrested in January of 2008 for possession with intent to distribute call b drugs and received probation in that case.
Capt Fuller praised the neighbors for "a good example of citizen's making observations of illegal activities in their neighborhood and passing the information along to the police. Citizens are an extra set of eyes for the police. Please don't ever hesitate to call the police if you see unusual activity in your neighborhood."
