New Details on Suspect in Alleged Domestic Violence Murder - KRCRTV.COM

REDDING, Calif. -

New details have emerged about 30-year-old Lukes Ladewig, who was arrested last week in connection with the death of his wife, Katie Pierce.  An autopsy of Pierce, which was released earlier this week, revealed that her death was a result of domestic violence.

Pierce was found in her Montague home on Wed., Oct. 17.  Deputies said she was unresponsive.  She died the next day at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.  Ladewig was arrested on the same day as her death.  He faces charges of murder, domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon.

These are not Ladewig's first criminal charges. The Montague man has been convicted of several crimes including cruelty to a child, battery of a non-cohabiting spouse, battery of a peace officer, battery of a person and more.

Thursday morning the Siskiyou County Sheriff's office released the results of the autopsy.

The Sheriff's Office said the autopsy confirmed that Pierce's injuries were consistent with blunt force injuries to the head.  The death has been ruled a homicide.  The autopsy was completed Wednesday morning at the Shasta Coroner's Office in Redding.
